Fencer: One of the Captains mentioned in my fellowship she is not getting the messages to tell us when we have a fellowship tourney to play. I know we are sending out tournies to other fellowships and they sit there for weeks. Has this feature been discontinued? We are having to send reminders to other fellowships to please reply to our tourney requests. BARB
Is anyone else find this site extremely slow, I can sleep between moves, and its not happening on any other game sites I play on, other then this one, it kind of takes the fun out of playing the games at this speed
Tulip: In settings, on the first main page - you will find these 2 options:
Show menu column on game pages Show notation column on game pages
Turn them both off.
You won't see the game moves - and you won't see when you have a new message - but I can live with that since it makes the page load faster - without jumping around when it's loading slowly.
Tulip: That is why on my game page, I removed the left & right columns - so the board will no longer "jump around" while the browser loads the page... on days that the site loads slowly.
Fencer: By the way, just the other day I had one of my small tournaments remove a player - and noticed that instead of deleting, it kept it there to wait for someone else to sign up!!!!
"Snoopy": It also used to delete tournaments if, after removing, there wasn't enough people for it to start... Maybe it was Fencer's way to fix this bug, and that's a side effect. (just wondering...)
alanback: well actually i didnt because the tournament should of started anyway as there was still 26 players in it and i already know it started 1 hour later im just trying to find out why its happening like this now before when ppl were removed from tournaments the tournament still started on time im just wondering why there is now a 1 hour delay
whats happening with tournaments these days this tournament new game mancala was suppose to start 9 mins ago but because 2 players didnt have enough spaces they got removed and the tournament got posponed anyone any idea why?
Gabriel Almeida: I posted some ideas at some point somewhere.. I think, but can't remember.
But I would love to see the Brains & points system be merged - that is you gain brains for moves & such - very very small amount. The biggest difference is remove any true value from the brains - that is don't exchange brains for paid membership. But replace it with non-value things like for example, a certain amount of brains can buy an extra vacation day. A certain amount of brains can give you the option to post (an approved) message to either system news or the blog for a day. (great way to advertise your fellowship or tournament.). A certain amount of brains could give you a fun color of rook like purple rook or something. Many things could be thought of to be in the "store" - all of which does not cost Fencer anything other then time to set it up. Kind of like a "money" system - which of course take any true value away from it so it does not turn this site into a betting system which some block.
Anyway, I know I had some plans written up at one point - I think might still be in my notepad. My opinion - scrap the current brains & points action system, and turn it into something that will be used to it's full potential.
Hi. This is just a suggestion, in my opinion (and BBW talked about that recently), brains system is not as develloped as it could be. If more people had brains, they would be more useful (more users envolved, more activities using brains). I think one of the next months action could be something like "buy or renew a membership and you receive XXXX brains. I don't know, 200, 500, 2000, for a knight/bishop, rook or black rook... what do you think?
