Chaosu: you cannot possibly win or advance any farther in that tournament, if you send Fencer a pm and ask him nicely, he will probably release you from that tournament so you can join another one
gambler104: Before this happens, tournaments need to be fixed. The current system isnt really practical. Tournys need to be round robin style till the end. Having 3 or 4 winners for a tourney IS NOT a tourney LOL Should only be 1 winner per tourney..
Hrqls: Here's an idea to reward the top players. Have a brain system for winning tournaments. Maybe 20 brains for winning a tournament with 5 or fewer players and 50 for one with 6-10. And you could keep increasing it. And then have a set limit on number of tournaments that could count for this per month.
Gentlegiant101: I just exposed a simple question. About your history, i inform you the time conditions of your game were 7 days for all it without weekends, so you lost this game because you spent all your time before of the end of it.
I have tried international wire transfer (enabling this option costs as much as premium account in my fathers bank) and I already told You about my problems personally Fencer, You suggested connections with Czech and I told You that if this will be only way... but I got tired and now, when I am back there is other solution so... : )
Matarilevich: the time out message and "loss of game message I received this morning at 9.45 Quebec,Canada time despite the fact my last play was made just hours earlier and opponents only minutes later. And to avoid excessive debate over timezones there is the added written info that Sunday (yesterday) is a weekend day along with the preceding Saturday. for this game whose id is below. I am fully aware that the more serious members are unappreciative of those members who "time out" without valid reason. And it bothers me that this impression is going to be possibly created by an inanimate object. (number1760232) PS: I am epileptic and due to my height 6 feet seven inches I am at a higher risk of getting back sprains and inflammations. if such be my experiences of a given moment Please be informed that I will let the games "time out". Apart from that I enjoy the games too much to let them "time out".
Chaosu: Have you tried the international wire transfer? I've already received payments from Iran, South Africa, China, Russia and many other countries using this way, so I am sure it would work for Poland as well. Not to mention it is a direct neighbor of Czech Republic, so you can easily cross the border and sent the money locally.
You may not belive but it is much harder to pay premium account here from Poland thatn from other countries, see how many PL players already have one? Only Dein asaik and he have multiaccounts anyway because he just play good, 40 games was way too less for him and he also play on all other sites like it : ) Thats why I am searching for other ways, too late for place 1-5 (i wasn't playing for long until 20 july) but we will see.
Chaosu:I personally don't mind! Do what you want, but it's not me who has to give you the green light. There's a Fen ...., Fence ......, Fencer here who is in charge!
Matarilevich:I remember there used to be a warning message in red, saying that the game time was suspended. But I cannot see it anymore. Have you forgotten to put it there Fencer, or am I missing it somehow?
Erinity: What browser do you use? I find that in IE some games are soo slow.. My ludo games were super slow until I started using firefox. now it's like night and day for speed
Brian1971: Silly man, of course I don't know you. All I know is that you've chosen to make judgements about certain people and look down your nose at their choices in life. Maybe you're a great guy but from what you've shown here I find that I have no wish to know you. It's a shame that you didn't choose to stay in your "normal" life away from the "'puter" in the first place. That way you wouldn't have to give a hollow LMAO to cover your embarrassment.
Brian1971: See what I mean about a superiority complex? You assume that responding to idiots on this board implies a personal interest in them. Nope. I just don't suffer fools gladly. I couldn't care two hoots about you personally.
playBunny: I was busy managing a multi-million dollar restaurant. I find it fascinating that you have taken personal interest in me. It is almost like you have no interests in your personal life to take care of. I am sure that cant be the case now can it?
Was the site down for us in North American again? It was hours I take it? I had a ton of emails from total strangers asking me why it was down. My crystal ball was on the fritz so I had no answers.
playBunny: Wow - somebody should check their blood pressure...And to those of you who actually manage to have the time to play continuously 24/7 for "Action Points" - what's the secret to finding that kind of time, I wanna play too
Brian1971: "Before jumping on me you should read my entire post. IF people are here every hour, every minute of the day they need a life."
That is not a conditional statement and the IF, even in capitals, doesn't change it from a judgemental declaration.
"People who are here every hour, every minute of the day, need a life."
It's insulting and well worth jumping on you for.
Not only is it insulting but it's also naive. Have you ever seen a dance marathon? People who dance for hours until the last one's dropped? They have chosen to be in a competition that can be won only by constant, relentless attendance and attention, plus amazing endurance. They have a life and the've chosen to spend part of it in the competition.
Similarly this is a competition situation here. And while relentless attendance is not compulsory, nor an absolute neccesity, it does convey an advantage. That people have chosen to spend this part of their life engaged in such a pursuit of glory is not an indication that they have no life but that they are fitting this competition into their life. Your insults show lack of appreciation both socially and intellectually.
Brian1971: "This way people who play over a thousand games at a time dont drown out players who play much fewer games."
This is another point that you haven't understood. Look at the Pawns competition and be aware that almost 100% of thoise points are single points for non-tournament games. In the Rooks competition something like 80-90% are tournament points which score double. So multiply the Pawn scores by 2 and compare the lists.
And then try and explain how Pawns with 20 games maximum are far, far from being "drowned out" by Rooks having over 1000 games??
You'll notice that there are no Knights in the entire Rooks competition. Oops, I shouldn't have said Rooks there, because it's for non-Pawns. Why no Knights? Because they don't have the 100s of games and they don't get many doubled points from tournament games, Knights are severely limited (crippled, in terms of the competition) in the number of these that they can have.
But that's not quite true. A Knight with a fast connection and the willingness to compete (ie, put in the time) could, with the techniques that the Pawns use, beat the Rooks and win a prize.
And that would apply to anyone in these ranges of number of games that you've proposed. It's not only numbers of simultaneous games, it's turnover.
