I'm sorry. I don't want to offend anyone. Life is to short to worry what about what people are and aren't doing. Don't get me wrong I do understand it's a different story when it comes to national security.

Further to our partial conversation during our game...I use IE....but in your post below you have the words " application servers " which are underlined in green on my screen and are a live link.

can any one help me as to why certain words or phrases are underlined in green and are clickable links.....Does it have anything to do with my OWN setting?

It never happened to me [I use Netscape]. Probably one of IE "smart" features :-)

Itnever happend to me to and i using IE.

Have a look in Tools, Internet Options & Advanced TAB Bernice, i think it will be one of the boxes you have clicked in there.(try restoring defaults)

what exactly is the problem with you IE Bernice?? Is it not letting you play games properly??

Im using IE ..(because my wife doesnt allow me to download a later version of Netscape than 4.7 LOL)
and i get those "links" too Bernice. In your message i have "application servers" and in Aragon's is "play games" clickable/underlined. Have no idea why...but you're not alone :)

I had the same problems a while back. It resulted when upgrading from Win98. All later versions do not give J2SE Java Plug-In as standard. You most likely only have a limited Java compatibility?

Try downloading the J2SE package form the SUN site!! Or Java Site:

i have Win98 SE and have not attempted to upgrade anything. It does not prevent me from playing games. I just wondered why it was happening and THANKS Gubbe...Im pleased Im not alone :)

Aragon: BrainKing has nothing to do with Java plug-in. Yes, BrainKing is written in Java but only on server side. Browsers get HTML pages, nothing more.

These underlined "links" appears not only here. So they have nothing to do with Brain King. Guess it is, as Fencer said, because Microsoft is kind enough to show us where to go :)

Sorry, don't know how to be removed from the site.. but harley (the moderator, and therefore about the only person who can delete posts) hasn't been on for a while, and so can't have deleted it.. and probably wouldn't have anyway ! Are you sure you didn't by mistake ? As the poster it says delete under the post, aswell as reply or edit... just an idea :)

Thanks, Niki, you're quite right, I haven't deleted any message, and on the rare occasions I do have to delete one I always tell the person concerned why I deleted it.

I'm not sure why your email address wouldnt be valid any more, unless you've changed your usual email address, in which case its just as Niki says, change it in your profile. You can also change your username there.

i just got some games back from this morning that i already played...

Yes, it seems things have been reset from about half an hour ago? Some messages have disappeared from this board too (which I did not delete!).

Me too, i just lost all the moves i had made for the morning and all my games have been reset back to the way i left them last night. what's up with that??

OK, i just looked at my games and the moves i made up till about 8:30 AM CST are still there but all the moves i made after that time are gone and i made a -lot- of moves. so i guess they'll be put back, right?

Uuum, not necessarily, dogdog. This has happened once before and unfortunately the games could not be put back. Hopefully your opponents will be good sports and do the same moves as has already been made.

I lost two days of games about a week or so ago and they have never come back so i guess these will be lost as well. i wish i could remember all the moves i made, but i'm way toooooo old for that. i just hope the other players understand that and don't blow a fuse or two if i make different moves than i did this morning.

well i have games that wont even load up properly (things missing from boards )

I wouldn't worry to much, dogdog, we're all in the same boat, I certainly can't remember all my moves, even those I just did tonight! If my opponents can remember and its important to them, then I would hope they will prompt me.
Jason, all my games seem ok loading in, have you tried leaving the site all together then coming back on? Maybe it just needs a kind of big refresh?!

yes an explanation would be nice , not only moves was lost i for one had sent invites out and had to try and remember who accepted them after they had vanished , (is this likely to keep happening ?)

Will there be the 2nd Official BrainKing.com Tournament anytime soon?

You know I was wondering about that also awhile back. There are plenty of regular tournament, and some people call their tournaments "Championship", but I think it would be cool to have anouther OFFICIAL BrainKing tournament - hopefully get some of the best to enter the tournament. (Possible have about a month to sign up so pawns will have some time to get through current tournaments before it starts)

Bernice, you should be able to pay for 6 months membership already. On the paid membership page, next to each type of membership you should have the option to purchase 6 months or 12 months?
