Snoopy: Ya i don't get why its so fast.. maybe its the lack of add ons. FF has sooo many scripts, add ons etc.. Maybe thats why its sooo darn laggy lately.
All I know is safari is simple, basic, not pretty but WOW she's fast!

I a playing a game of Cloning backgammon, and autopass is enabled, but it isnt working during this game, does anybody know why?

I have just been comparing them in fact, and Safari is faster at loading games pages, but very little to choose any any other pages i tried.

Apart from the speed reason, like coan.net and others, i love the huge amount of Add-ons available for Firefox. I have everything i need all on one page from resizing text areas to all my email

The only reason i can think off the top of my head that people find Firefox slow is they do not have enough memory for it. It has always been notorious for eating memory up, though the new version is not meant to be as bad as previous one.

I have 30 Add-ons(though only 27 running at the moment), i have no speed problem, so i will be sticking with it

I downloaded Safari and have Firefox.. very little difference on my puter between the two regarding speed.. as for the add ons.. I just use it plain since I still use IE for my other web browsing.. I have it set for IE as the default browser.. 

I got an idea for an opinion poll but I know i would leave some info out as an answer option and thought I would throw it out there for someone that is more in tune with the answers.

1.) what is the best 'new feature' applied to BK in the last year?
i.e. opinion polls, multi sign up for ponds, hide oponents turn to move, etc,etc,etc.....

what is the best new game added to BK in the last year?

I don't often use polls, but if they are something that might help the site, I probably would.

Well since more and more keep adding to poll ideas, a good place to add suggestions is the Opinion Polls discussion board

Since they can easily get buried here - I know for public polls, when I'm ready to make a new poll I always do a quick search through that board to see what pop's out at me.

paully: In the left column click Settings. In the General Tab near the bottom uncheck all the boxes under Show BannerAds Then click save or whatever it says. I hope this works

LionsLair: and even if they are in the pond, they cannot play. It will not let them bid in the pond. If the pond is just starting, their bid will be zero. If they became a pawn in the middle of a pond going on, their last bid will be their bid until it causes them to fall in.

andy99: try logging out, the bottom link in the left column. Then on the loginpage click on the flag you wish.

LionsLair: if they are a knight or a rook the moment they submit their move, it will still count, even if they become a pawn before that round is over and the moves are calculated

andy99: in the 'castle' style (which you can chose on the most top line of this site) there is a column with flags on the most right side of this site .. click on the flag of the language you want to use

another way would be to change the url (the website address) in the address bar of your browser .. the address of this board ends with '/Board?bc=1' just before that is the language code .. for me its 'nl' (dutch)
'en' would be english, 'xx' is unreadable (keycodes), 'es' is spanish (i think), etc.

I have red dots everywhere cant get rid of them, unable to play any games, this has only happened since the site went down, need some help please.

Please please please, i really need some help here, can not continue my games i have red dots as icons, and at the bottom of the page it keeps saying "Transferring data from brainking,com" and the green bar isnt fully across, it has been like that for about 20 minutes now.

Restart the browser
Restart the computer

Try do a "hard" refresh (hold down CTRL key & hit F5) or (hold down SHIFT key & hit F5) - this will make the browser refresh everything.

Clear out the browser cache (usually under Tools, option)

Are others able to see the latest blog entry at brainking.info? When I go there, I just have the titile of the article at the top, and the rest of the page (where the article would normally be) is blank. (The normal stuff is on the right hand side)

Also, never there before, at the top is a box to enter a password. I logged in to the site, and still see no article.

Just wondering if it's just me. And if it IS just me, what can I do to see the article?

Hmm.. when I go to Brainking.info directly, I can see the article. It's when I click on "More" in the preview of the article here, that i don't see any article. I wonder why.
