Board for everybody who is interested in BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future.
If you experience connection or speed problems with BrainKing, please visit Host Tracker and check "BrainKing.com" accessibility from various sites around the world. It may answer whether an issue is caused by BrainKing itself or your local network (or ISP provider).
harley: Please don't delete anything until I'll find out what is wrong :-) If there is something that really must be deleted, just let me know and I will do it manually in the database.
There is a page related to this topic: http://brainking.info/bugs.html.
Anybody who wants to complain about anything should read it first. I don't suppose that more messages like "this site is slow again" can make it faster.
Okay, can I start making a list of representatives for payments? Right now we have Rose, harley and blazeinshore (?). Is that correct? It seems that the Paid Membership page is going to be much improved :-)
Thanks for all great ideas, I will definitely improve the payment description page. About representatives, why not? I can create a list of them and let them handle with their country people, no problem :-) It is worth trying.
Kevin: Actually, there is a limit for Brain Rooks but it is 1000 games and I doubt that anybody (including eddie spaghetti) would be able to reach it ;-)
blaze: Okay, I will try to make it wider.
About connectivity - that's good because Liquid spent almost the whole night by tuning the database server ;-)
Btw, do you think that it would be interesting to post some technical information about this site to BrainKing.info? Probably yes because some problems are not explainable without several low-level relations.
Well, ahem, what should I say? Although it doesn't look like that, I am still trying to improve the site performance, it is my top-priority job related to BrainKing.com. But I have to do something for living too and it is time-consuming as well :-)
Anyway, you are right about the outdated BrainKing.info. I will try to add new information today or tomorrow.
Okay but if the invited person is not registered on BK, he must create his account first and then find the game invitation. Maybe what CleverHunk wants is to redirect this new user to the game invitation instead of the main page, right?
Just a quick note - if I don't answer to all e-mails reporting the current problems, it's because I am trying to fix them. As Dmitri wrote, each site has problems, occasionally.
Good news are that the problem is not permanent and we are slowly getting it under control.
The current sorting order is by the last move date and time. Better ways are under development. When it's done, it's done. I never forget about any suggestion :-)
Harley is the new moderator of this discussion board. I am glad that she can help me because I have absolutely no time to moderate the current status here ;-)
Looks like I've finally fixed the problem with blank page instead of a list of on-line players. Please let me know immediately if the error occurs again.
Yes, it is possible but each Add Game click would require the page reload (it must be in JavaScript without page reload). I will think it over.
About tournaments - it must be tested but I think that the main functionality is correct, I hope ;-)
Erm, perhaps I should be more specific. Sorry :-) Here is the example - when you define a new tournament, you have to select one game type for it. You simply click on the combo box and select one game type, only one. But I would like to change the "combo box" to a "list" where you should be able to select more game types at onces. With Internet Explorer etc. it is possible to click on several items with holding down the ctrl key and the result is that more than on item in this list is selected.
It is possible with WebTV too?
I've got a question for WebTV users - are you able to select more then one item of a list? It is possible with "normal" web browser by holding down the CTRL key but I'm not sure about other devices.
I really have no time to ask everyone to be nice on discussion boards. I am overloaded with my work on BK and I have to sleep sometimes.
Please, use the General Chat board.
Sam: There is always a possibility to find a friend with normal computer and use it for the payment. I am afraid that direct international money transfer would cost you too much (bank fees). You can also send cash money to my postal address.
I've already heard about this problem from another NTL user. The page you cannot access belongs to Swreg.org site, not to BrainKing.com, so I can do nothing with it. What error does it show to you?
