Czuch: The only distraction I can see Saddam causing is if Iran invaded, the rest.. Well, embarrassment over him being an ex lackey of the USA and Tony Blair hating him.
How many people died since he was basically fenced in v his regime being taken down, and how much in resources have been diverted from eradicating Al-Qaeda? As to two different fights... he wasn't one, he was an easy victory and pointless one... and from history we have many examples of the problems of fighting on two different fronts.
As to them being let go... I at the moment do not understand what happened. They were in nick, and somehow they were released. I don't see the US authorities being unaware of this.
I guess more info will come out over the next week, etc.
Czuch: If that is so true... why the waste of money and resources on Iraq that could have gone on fighting and destroying the terrorist network worldwide??
The billions spent on a war that was not necessary and now the real war on terrorism is suffering. Saddam was not a terrorist or had any links to Al-Qaeda.
rod03801: I heard on the news and read via several on-line newspapers that the Yemen authorities have been after help in dealing with possible terrorist cells, but such calls for help have been ignored. Yemen's Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has said that the country is not getting sufficient help from the West to tackle al-Qaeda. They have their own troubles dealing with warring factions and need support from the USA, UK and EU.
That of those who are possibly active in Yemen, two were from the bay, yet an estimated 200-300 terrorists are active in the country. No mention they were leaders, just active members of the group.
wouldnt it be a clever thing for them to do? blow up an aeroplane, thereby killing many people from DIFFERENT countries....not just america? Upsetting a wider range of peoples?
I heard on the news tonight, that the leaders/organizers of Al Queida groups in Yemen are some Guantanamo Bay terrorists who were released to Saudi Arabia and "rehabilitated" and are now back to the same thing. Let's keep releasing these people!! Yeah! Makes a lot of sense.
Artful Dodger: The guy from huffington got it wrong and changed his blog.. Is your point from that still valid?
And if it is the CIA.. then that speaks of a systematic government within government that has done it's best to make USA citizens frightened and care more about power then your country.... get rid of the CIA then.
I'm sure lots of people going by the CIA's past won't miss them... like the Russians do not miss the KGB!!
Czuch: Okay, now there is witness to some accomplice, who helped this guy get on the plane without a passport..... CIA for sure, and points again to an inside job by Obama
Artful Dodger: " I just acknowledge what is: For many (most) Americans, Christmas means the birth of Jesus. Saying that Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of the baby Jesus"
tell that to the millions of kids who think its the day Santa comes!!
Mousetrap: It is getting stupid, a teacher told not to say "I'll pray for your child" as she'll lose her job... people told not to wear a cross or they will lose their job...
Snoopy: I always say that. I am not even religious. What can they do? Sue me? Bring it on! I have more of a problem with(diverting off the subject here)that a lot of people(miserable buggers)cant even be bothered to post one message a year such as Merry Christmas in Fellowships. How much effort does that take? What is wrong with people?
It is obvious to me that this latest "terrorist attack' attempt was nothing more than an inside job by Obama and his neocon cronies, as a rouse to gain more support for their illegal wars on terror!
(V): im sick and tired of being told i cannot wish ppl a Happy Christmas anymore has it may offend it will always be Christmas in my eyes and wishing ppl a Happy Holiday dosnt mean the same in anyone eyes
Tuesday: Aye.. something like that.. also as a look back, the modern parties in the USA are young as is that the American civil war was not that long ago.
One has to ask if the laws of rebound apply to such events!
Humor depends on ones perspective. If you don't find this to be funny, it may speak of your nature. Remember, humor always has a line of truth running through it:
For those that don't know about history . . . Here is a condensed version:
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals, and 2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain, and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.
Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.
Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.
Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.
Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, pharmacists, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.
Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.
Here ends today's lesson in world history:
It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.
A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to tick them off.
when the republic, prey in the senato floor. for the senator can t make to the floor, tell me what the means?... means they sore loserrrrrrrrrrrrr..........
