SafariGal: yea, the person created A LOT of tournaments before their membership ran out - but they were all created when they were a rook before their membership ran out.

BIG BAD WOLF: there are a lot of them, 3 pages I think still not started

SafariGal: Pawns can not create tournaments.

Those tournaments were made by a rook, who had since let their membership drop down to a pawn.

Don't be afraid of endless games and tournaments! If you don't like to join to the Gammon Tournaments without end (related with the move time of the opponents), our games finish before the next month tournament generally.

We choosed publicly announce this Traditional but popular Tournaments here, in the tournaments discussion group and some fellowship groups to all the best and fast players who are inside the top 10% of any type Gammon Games.

Inside the top 10% any type Gammon player (Back, Nack, Crowded, Race, Hyper, Anti), is eligible to join to all other games in this Tournaments before the begin time. (June 15, 2006).

Others, outside of top 10% players, will be deleted before the tournaments begin without excuse...

Match type: 3 points match with doubling cube
Tournament type: one match for each two players
Maximum number of players per section: 8
Final match type for two players section: 5 points match with doubling cube
Time control: Time: 2 days, Bonus: 3 hours, Limit: 9 days, no days off (red signed)

(That means after beginning you have 2 days (48 hours) for your first move. Per your another move, you'll have 3 hours bonus for your other move time. 9 days is limit time for the opponents, after the move of other side.)

as MysticRiver's membership will expire tomorrow, will the over 200 tournaments created by her be deleted? it would really enhance the tournament tip which now says Race For The Gold Backgammon 2100+ 8 Players (Backgammon) most of the time.

Pawns are limited to 1 tournament total, and you are still in many others which are still running.

Hrqls: It shouldn't be a problem with random games. Wouldn't reseeding the players for the next round be easy enough to do? Or just leave it seeded as it was in the first round and continue the pairings based on the first round seeding?

I must have gotten lost in the thread. I thought you guys were asking for a feature to the tournaments. Sorry, carry on with the friendly discussion

MidnightMcMedic: I was under the impression that feature requests or discussions about something that has its own board IE 'tournaments' or 'backgammon' should be brought to that board and not to the 'general' feature requests?

we can take it to another board though if you want, 'brainking' or 'general chat' or any fellowships board :)

Marfitalu: but how is are the players seeded when they are norated ?

Maybe this should be taken to the Feature Requests board?

Marfitalu: is there used 'no average' at the moment ? or is there used the rating at which everyone starts ? (which is 1300 ? or 1500 ? or .. ?)

the problem with random game types though is that you dont know the ranking of the player, so you cant base the seeding on the ranking

(thanks for posting the way of seeding though, i forgot i asked about that :) i didnt know it was different per game type)
