look it guys .. I'm sorry I timed out.. it wasn't intentional... I just got busy with other aspects of life.... I was shocked when I finally logged on and found out i timed out in that many games... I don't use the auto vacation day function in order to use them when i really need them...
play just started in a triple gammon tourny in one fellowship i belong to .. I notice there is no distinction between these games and regular backgammon games.. .. even as far as game type it says backgammon.. no mention that it is triple game.. ... strategy for these games are different .. is there anyway that they can be marked.. ??..
I believe there is a problem with the scoring on timing out with the new doubling cube... I was playing a 3pt match with diogenes #1114006 ... first game he won so score was 1-0..next game I won 2 pts so score was 1-2 .. in third match diogenes timed out.. i was awarded the win but received no pts ... so we have a fourth game starting..
go to the help page at dailygammon and read about computer guessing... that is what the computer is doing ... if your opponent makes a different move other than what the computer guessed the the game is rolled back to that point ..
and if one of your pieces is stuck in your opponents home when he bears off ... its a backgammon and worth 3 points or 3 times the cube value ... your description of 2 pts is called a gammon
littlebabybird.. in your game 81484 .. you have to enter off the bar using the 3-die.. the 2-spot is blocked by your opponent .. that is why you cannot swap dice there.. i can't see a reason why in the other game 81455..
LOL.. I think there is a lot to learn to using the cube. it adds a whole new dimension and strategy to the game... I believe I read somewhere that adding it to this site is on Fencer's todo list...
yes if you were to refuse the cube .. the person offering wins that game for 1-point .. or the value of the cube at that time before the offer... and then a new game starts until one player has reached the point-value of the match...
sometimes it's a big risk.. other times the person offering may not have quite the advantage he thinks he does.... as you know.. strange things happen in backgammon...
if i accepted the cube that would make the game worth 2 points.. a gammon would be 4 points.. ... but then control of the doubling cube would revert back to me... if later on i thought i had a lead in the game i could offer the cube back to you and if you accepted the game would be worth 4 points..... gammon would be 2x the cube or 8 points.. etc.. etc...
say you have a 5-pt match or more... you use the doubling cube when you have an advantage in the game to increase the stakes of that particular game for points.. has nothing to do with money... not here anyway... lol
I want to apology to all those that i just recently timed-out on... I just returned from vacation and thought I could save the 2 days I had over-scheduled... in doing so I timed put in 16 games.... had I made my moves first before changing the scheduled vacation days... it would not have happened.... so to all those involved.. I am deeply sorry ... and look forward to other matches with you all soon... ----- Sharon----
