Puckish: i didnt think there was always the option of doubling - i thought if you had sent the last offer - that you couldnt send another until it was returned.... maybe im wrong - im not a big gammon player....
Hrqls: or - as in the tournament you are talking about - the first person to sign up - could have their game choice given the most weight or likelihood of being chosen and each person thereafter would have lesser weight....
rednaz23: well - it sounds like a good idea right off the bat - but i hope new users wouldnt be confused by different rook colors and if they were attached to ranking in the games.... thats really the only drawback i can think of....
i just have too many games - why cant there be an automated program that makes moves for me - its such a waste of my time to have to log in and make moves.... maybe i can also get an auto-accept challenge feature - and an auto-message maker - that way - i dont have to log in at all anymore!!!!
MadMonkey: I'm not sure about that.... While it might be useful to have that ability - there would be some that would send continual messages over and over - and it would end up being a bad thing. Some people play their games in a particular order for a reason, while others might not have a problem with picking up the pace on a certain game.... but giving someone the ability to mass spam members of a tourney could be abused. What about all the members whose games are already done? Could there be a setting to check to choose to not get mass messages? That might help....
How bout a way to show approval or "kudos" regarding a post without having to make a new post. The Laugh it Up" brings this to mind.... you like to let the post-er of a joke know you liked it or laughed when you read it - but posting a smiley or comment after each joke gets tedious and board clogging.... so how bout a section on the bottom of the post where you can update appreciation and such...
Ok - the friends list - a great tool - a great feature - love it love it love it - here is a possible upgrade - just like a friend or buddy list for an instant messenger - how bout creating seperate lists for your friends - i like to know when members of my f/s are online - i also have other groups of friends - i also have the global mods on so i know who i can go to at any certain time - but really- that makes for a pretty long list .... and it would be great to have links to different groups of friends so i could pick which list is displayed on the main page.... does that make sense?
I like being able to look at my trends and changes in BKR - The graph is very nice - each block showing the progess made or lost with a win or loss.... how bout a pop up line that tells you the opponents name or the game link - like when you move the mouse over a tournament link it show the current standings - this could show the game link so you know the opponent and can jump to the game that either cost you big time or pushed you out of a slump....
Well - we have tons of variants that create new strategy or put an emphasis on certain aspects of the game - how bout a variant for Logik? My suggestion for the variant is to not be allowed to use colors more than once.... this still allows for the needed strategic analysis, but could allow for much more intense and rapid gaming....Rapid Logik, Rigid Logik, Locked Logik, Logik+, hmmmm - i dont know what to call it.... but i like the idea....
You know - for a few days - especially when it would switch back and forth - the new style was annoying - but ive already gotten adjusted to it - im a big fan now - thanks fencer....
How bout this - a member involved in even one tournament who is inactive for a month - and is using the auto vacation feature - gets an automated BK request sent to his/her email requesting the member log back in to change the settings so that immediate time outs becomes possible.... this would remind them they are holding up others....
CryingLoser: well - that would certainly solve your problem - i think maybe creating your own tournaments with your own time limits might help - maybe your own fellowship...
Fencer: there are certain words that have a double blue line under them - that when you move the cursor over - pop up an advertisment of some sort - i feared it was part of an automatic upgrade on my puter - but maybe its specific to this site? - guess i gave away how much other browsing ive been doing lately.... lol - scroll down to the post by Gordon Shumway on this page - the word chess is the sample - who knows - maybe it will be on this post too...
if there is a way - can someone tell me.... if there isnt - could there be?
When a message is edited on a discussion board, could an option be selected or checked by the big boss or moderator that would show it on your board list as a new message?
rednaz23: i agree with Vikings - if they want to go faster - they will.... if they want to go slower - it has to be for non-tournaments only - you have some people in tournaments that are limited in the number of tournaments they can play in and pick fast moving tournaments on purpose... slowing down the entire tournament would not be fair to them....
mctrivia: i think you might find it hard to find someone willing to decrease a time limit... there's normally one person out of the two that would want it going faster...and the other is the reason for it... both might agree to going slower - but i agree that would be bad in tournaments....
Caissus: maybe a link on the current real game to move into a practice board with the current pieces as they are - where you can then manipulate both sides of the board to play out some possibilities....
Fencer: good point - i was thinking about tournament notifications and such - but really - thats what the discussion boards are for.... i wouldnt want to deal with those on the site that would abuse the feature.... cancel that request... lol
Could it be possible to create multiple teams for 1 game type? There would be more involvement on the team tournaments if a fellowship could send more than 1 team.... has there been discussion on this topic?
I know that I already asked Fencer and he said he would think about this... but I'd love to hear others feedback...
What about an option to create in-game discussion open for all viewers? In Plente o' Pente f/s we are holding an Unrated Tourney for teaching, learning, and discussing strategy... it would be nice for all of us to read the comments of others....
