Chessmaster1000:
Why? Simple because arrays are not a list.
a[] its an array of 4 positions, not a list of values... you can't declare:
a[4]=(4,14,44,104).
First this is not an Integer Value.
Second you are saying that the 5th element should be a list... Not for C language!
ughaibu:
I will say 4 item from Aragon advice its the problem with files classes... Those files are java ones that reside on temprary Internet Download folder. So Antivirus pick the guys when you access the dwnload files but when you look gfor it they don't exist anymore.
Not sure if you change the Browser this files (class java ones) stop to come to your computer... But you can give a try and share with us. ;-) But for play for safe just have sure you have a reliable AntiVirus Program updated often.
Hope i helped ughaibu...
Microsoft Antispyware program - Just beware, it is still in beta and the last that I heard, it will be a program that Microsoft may actually SELL for money, not let use for free. But still a lot of time between now and then.
I use Spyware search & destroy and adaware to clean my system about once a week. I installed the Microsoft thing, but was really annoyed that even in the config I told it I did not want it running, it still was starting up automaticly as startup. (Which I use another program to disable it from automaticly starting up.)
Aragon: An online article I read (sorry can't remember the link) warned of some anti-spyware programs in particular that were known to actually be spyware. But, who knows...
As for the license number, there is an option to skip that during the download. I never did validate my license. I never had to enter the license number.
They dont exactly install spyware so to speak, but some will negate to find certain programs as 'Spyware' when actually they are. That way they can not get blammed for installing spayware, but can appologise that their system was not robust enough to find ALL spyware!! (legal loop hole type rubbish)
The user license for the Microsoft Spyware?? Well to download it you need to enter your current 'Valid' User Liscense number (XP CD Code), and if you use one of the many 'Illegal' codes then not only will it not work, but id hazard a guess that windows wont boot properly the next time around either LOL
Some spyware are not as good as they proclaim, and infact if they have any affiliate groups then their program will be set to 'ignore' these as threats!!
The Microsoft one is by far the best yet, it has 'Live' protection and live 'Updates' but beware those that do not have an VALID user license for their operating systems!!
As i'm in my very first steps at C i need a little help some times.....
One thing i can't do is the following, so if anyone has any idea of how, then please...........:
--------------------------
-----------------------------------
In the following code-1 example the output is:
c[0]= 4
c[1]= 44
c[2]= 84
c[3]= 104
--------------------------------------------
Aragon: I have heard that some spyware programs hide in the system restore and windows update "stuff". I haven't verified this, its just what I heard.
Microsoft has come out with a great tool to help protect against spyware, browser hijacks. It has a reaaly cool feature called "System Explorers". It will let you view and modify settings that are normally hidden and difficult to change. Some of them include Downloaded ActiveX controls, running processes, Startup programs, IE helper objects, IE toolbars, Winsock LSP's, and Shell Execute Hooks.
1 Read the End User Licensing Agreement before installing software.
Often, users blindly click on the 'I accept' button when installing software, without reading the end user licensing agreement.
Doing so will cause you to miss shady clauses like 'third-party software may be installed with this application'.
The end result? You just gave permission for spyware bundled with the application to come on board your computer.
2 Scan your PC regularly with anti-spyware software
Anti-virus companies like McAfee, Symantec and Trend Micro have incorporated anti-spyware tools within their security suites.
There are also other free and excellent anti-spyware tools available on the Internet for home use. These include:
• Lavasoft's Ad-aware: www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
• Spybot Search and Destroy: www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
• Hijack This: http://hijack-this.net Some spyware programs are extremely resilient to removal and you may have to try more than one program before they can be removed.
The reason for this is that these spyware programs are designed that way, and 'hook' into your computer at many places.
Another reason for this is that new spyware variants come out so quickly that the anti-spyware industry has to scramble to keep up.
This means you should update your anti-virus/anti-spyware programs with the latest version whenever possible. If you have any problems, consult your security vendor or read the computer forums.
3 Update your computer with the latest patches
For Windows, if you have not turned Windows Update on, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and patch your system. You can choose not to download and patch everything, but you should at least install all critical patches.
4 Change your browser
Many malicious programs on the Internet currently target Internet Explorer. Switch to another browser, and many of your problems will disappear. Firefox and Mozilla (available at www.mozilla.org) are excellent free open source browsers.
Even if your IE browser has been infected, you can still use your alternative browser to surf the Internet for a solution.
5 Install a personal firewall
A firewall program is indispensable to security. A personal firewall won't keep your browser from being hijacked, but a well-configured one can prevent all sorts of other nastiness, like your passwords being reported back to a hacker via a spyware keylogging program. You can choose from many varied firewalls, from the windows firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2, or from the various security vendors.
There are also free firewalls you can download from the Internet, such as ZoneAlarm (www.zonealarm.com), Sygate (http://smb.sygate.com) or Kerio (www.kerio.com).
my videocard is an FX 5200 and my monitor is an LG flatron plus super!
It's not a bad one. And what's more, you cannot set the refresh rate to higher than what your monitor can support. The screen will show you you have done the wrong thing. It won't be as good as it is supposed to be and you'll soon realize that.
reza: Mine was set to 75 and I just set it to 85 (now I will wait to see the difference). I was told if you change your settings to a higher refresh rate than your monitor can handle it can destroy the monitor. So if you have a very high end vid card and an older monitor dont set the refresh rate too high!
What I just want to mention while I know many of you are aware of it is the refresh rate of your monitor. It should be set to fit the resolution. Right now I'm using 1024*768 with arefresh rate of 85 Hertz. It really makes a difference if I change 85 Hz to 75 Hz or other rates. the picture quality changes a lot.
reza: Thanks for the input. I only recently switched to 1024x768 and it is an adjustment for me from 800x600 but at least now the full BK page loads with no left to right scroll anymore
640x480 1?
800x600 5
1024x768 8
1152x864
OR higher 2
800 x 600, but I have a PC upstairs where its impossible to change it to more than 640 x 480. I've been told its something to do with the graphics card. I used it for the net for about 6 months.
Andersp: I had this problem with Nero too. I know there is some misunderstanding between Nero & the burner but I did not bother to find out what it is. Instead I downloaded DeepBurner and everything works well. Try it.
Rose: 1024x768
To post a link on BK for a link with in the site you type this
(note there is a . before each less then symbol and must be removed or you wont see the code)
<.a href="/Board?bc=535"> what ever your link is called<./a> this will show the computer board..
with internal links you cant use the entire h.ttp://brainking.com/games/ portion of the URL or it wont work..
External links to other sites YOU must use the full URL of the website.
What is funny is I have some users who visit my sites using a phone/PDA - so I have some very small screen resolutions like 240x320 who visit my sites.
Thanks BBW my sites have stats as well. I was looking for stats from our BK users. I do appreciate your stats tho. I'm finding more and more people are switching to a higher res than 800x600 and I didn't think anyone used 640x480 at all anymore.
I'm assuming most folks who used to use 15 in monitors have upgraded them to 17 in or higher which would eleminiate the use for 640x480.
Rose: On all my websites, I keep stats of all users screensizes, and on all sites, they are almost the same (Stats below are for the year 2004 on coan.net/popcan.org/catlinhigh.com/... and a few other sites together)
I'm trying to find out todays most used screen resolution. Would you folks mind participating in a survey for me? What resolution is your monitor set to:
Andersp I'm just familiar with version 5 of Nero, do you have Nero Toolkit installed? Run Nero Info tool, it should search for all CD-Drives...
If that fails try to reinstall Nero, like Andre said.
Ferjo: Yup..thats the one. Probably my Nero isnt correct installed ..when i go to "choose recorder" i only get 1 option "image recorder", tried to click help but it doesnt work either
Andersp:
So a Samsung Combo Drive, right?
Well Samsung sells its products with Nero Software, so in theory your burner should work with Nero... And I think even this particular model come with Nero on some kits.
Aragon, Danoschek: Thanks for reply and some advices...I got the winner: DreamSoft Media Streamer. You can download any (czech) radio you want. It's great. Thanks again.
