I have four games in the "Waiting games" section if anyone would like to play a game or two. 2 game time limit with vacations and weekends still happening.
Jules: Ah, my dear Jules. Without any moderation at all, I had deleted the three posts the chessmec found offensive. He in turn deleted his post concerning mine and danoschek's. As you've noted, danoschek has you on hide too. As far as I know, you didn't see any of the dispute except maybe danoschek's posts and the one that I typed after I deleted the rest of them. I do care about being put on block by someone, though there's not much I can do about it.
I thought the last post that I typed explained in a non-threatening or harrassing way a way for danoschek and I to settle our differences or failing to do that to make sure that we'd stay away from each other. As I asked chessmec in some private messages, how else can I communicate with him? And you yourself have done as I did and posted here. Hopefully he doesn't have us both on hide in this discussion board. As I've not gotten a reply, move, or noticed him changing the blocked user status in our game, I am going to assume he doesn't want to talk about it and will avoid him in the future. Perhaps he does want to talk about and had logged off. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a day or so. I'll delete this post if you think it is inappropriate also, but could you get word to him somehow in that case? I might delete it with out prompting in any case.
Three are in, one more is needed before 2 AM Pacific Time, around 8 hours from now. Andre has it as single game matches, so you only get to play three game for the whole tournament. 3 day time limit.
rabbitoid: That seems to make a simple rule. In regular Chess you can only move to an unoccupied square or one that is occupied by an opponent's piece. The Rook should be not be allowed to move to its starting square as it is occupied before it moves.
danoschek: I don't play cCylinder Chess, but I fail to see how making a move that leaves the board in the same position would eliminate stalemates from happening. Since only a Queen, Rook, or Bishop (Hmm, I'm not sure about a Bishop) can make such a move and not the King, a stalemate cannot happen in this manner, can it? It could certainly facilitate in the making of a stalemate though. Suppose I moved my Rook all the way around the board and left the position the same, now a stalemate could indeed happen. That'd be my stupidity for allowing that to happen, wouldn't it? One thing I am curious about this is, suppose a Rook that I can move all the way back to the same square is blocking your Bishop from throwing a check on my King. I would say that the Rook cannot be considered to have moved. Simular to the situation to castling through a check even though the King isn't in check when the castling is completed. How does the game here handle this situation?
Andromedical: I joined your tournament Andromedical. I haven't played much Dark Chess in awhile. I was hoping ol' Ed would join it for some Dark Chess, but thems the breaks. It looks like it starts in a few hours. Perhaps we can enlist a few more Dark Chess players?
Should be a fast paced tournament with a two day move limit.
grenv: Ain't that the truth? This fear of losing is making him not try new games. It's a shame in a way. As smart as he is preported to be, we'd really have our hands full if he got good at Dark Chess. There's no way around it though, even if you are good you will lose games. I've lost some to people who were just learning the game. And while you're learning the game, it's a given that you'll take some lumps and lose a few too. Maybe after Alex wins that marathon Chess game between them the burden will be off and he can branch out and try some new things.
Andromedical: Or if he does, he doesn't play it on this site. I have asked him to play at various times and he's turned me down by not responding. Perhaps you should have the tournament games in games that he actually plays on this site?
I know that him and quite a few other regular Chess, Gothic Chess, and Janus Chess players have no problem or would have no problem beating me at those games, but I hold my own against them in Dark Chess.
I just noticed that in the final standings of the 2004 Third Quarter open that I finished behind in S-B points, but still ahead in the final placing. I guess I won and lost to the right people? :)
That's the second time that I've done better than the S-B placing would have me. I'm glad it's only used break ties. Even then, I can't say I like it much, but it does seem better than not using it at all. I wonder why the tournament didn't go to another round? Some of my tournaments continue on with the section winners and others just end with it tied. The tie here seems like a good result with so many players, but another round with them two only wouldn't be a bad thing either.
题目: 2004 Third Quarter Open Number 3 Extinction Chess
The tournament is over. Two first place finishes for the championship. Congratulations Matarilevich and Caissus. Yo both took care of me. redsales was tough too. It looks like copying the final standings isn't going to work very well, so I'll supply the link too.

Round 2 has finally started. Winner gets a one year Rook membership. The money is in Fencer's hands waiting to be awarded. :) We have three people that I've played few times, one that knocked me out of the tournament, and two players I've never played. It looks like a good competitive round for all involved. Good luck to all of you and I hope for good games. After the tournament is over, I'll let Fencer know which of you wins the prize. If this rounds somehow ends in a tie, I'm not sure if the tournament will go to a third round or not. If it doesn't, those left in the tie will arrange a playoff of our own. If it does continue, then we'll await the results of such a round if it proves necessary.
Once again good luck to all, and bring extra batteries for your flashlights. :)
题目: Prize fund for the 2004 Third Quarter Dark Chess tournament
As I was knocked out of it a few weeks back, I sent Fencer the money for the winning prize of a year's Rook membership. Today Fencer sent me a message that he'd received the money and took it to the bank. The first round is just about over and the section winners will be playing it off shortly. I'll post their names when it's happening. Good luck to all that are still in.
Congratulations to Matarilevich, he swept our section and will be playing for the championship. He is also the first person to knock me out of a tournament as I've won every other Dark Chess tournament that I've entered here or on It's Your Turn. You guys in the other section will have your hands full playing him for the prize and championship. I look forward to checking out the games.
Current standings are here:

Since I'm eliminated, the prize is a full year Rook membership. Good luck to all that are left.
Starts September 25th. One year Rook membership up for grabs. Minimum payout is half year Rook or Full year Knight memberships.
It's an open, all are welcome.
How come I can no longer view the games that are complete with the whole board shown? It used to be that way. Now it's darkness. In games that I've played it shows it like as if I was playing. If it's two other players, the whole board is dark. Definitely a problem. I would like to be able to see the board in all three views (each player's view and the whole board), at once if possible, but if the only choice is one board, then it needs to show the whole board without darkness. If it's a bug, I suppose someone should tell Fencer, eh? Until it is, I won't be able to view a game of yours that you might want me to check out. Or vice versa. I know I've played a couple that are trippy games that people have asked about or I wanted to show someone who asked about something happening in one of my games.
Is that Pawn in passing capture problem related to this problem, do you suppose? That can be a hassle checking each move because the Pawn is stopped straight ahead, but he has an in passing capture available. Even if he is blocked from moving straight ahead, it is going to require you to think about checking it by clicking the Pawn and then trying the square with the arrow to see if it available or not. That will definitely slow the play of the game down when I have a Pawn on the fifth row. :(
