Foxy Lady: We are just getting colder nights now...leaves are just beginning to turn. Even though we are just a few hours driving distance apart, Long Island is in a different climate zone than Ithaca, I think. We don't have as severe winters as you do. I spent some time in Wisconsin this summer....man, do they have brutal winters.
Bernice:You are so lucky to have summer when we have winter, and virtually no winter at all for you either Dolittle: I guess you are living up to your name by not planting at all LOL Foxy: How are the babes? I hope winter doesn't hit you too hard this year. Tuesday: Thanks for the compliment...Did you ever get those curlers out of your hair?
ajtgirlzuchinni were shocking...grapes, bananas, paw paw, lemons, herbs, tomatoes, and every thing else were just great....still eating and picking new guinea paw paw and lemons.
Cherry toms are going to be a fabulous crop...grosse lisse toms werent as good as could have been but very tasty.
I have been absent from this board for a while because of work but will check in more often now that it's getting toward winter How did everyone's garden grow this year?
I think it is so kewl getting the stuff growing.. gardening is something I learned after moving up here.. it is a fun hobby.. and each year new ideas and new plants .. the rewards are awesome also.. I don't have the high prices as they are in the store..
I couldn't believe a 12oz bag of green beans was 4.95 at the store..
Oh.. I made a new photo album .. it is piccies of our garden this year.. at mid growing .. I can't wait to get some piccies in another month when everything is even larger.. the album is open to the public and no laughing at me! LOL
Bernice: Sorry your winter isn't nice to you.. our Summer here in Wyoming really hasn't been too bad.. normally we have been a very dry state.. or at least in our part of the state. This year though has brought lots of moisture and a cooler season.. sure it gets warm (last year 8 weeks of 100+) this year we started off cooler which helped.
it's been a rainy year this year.. and cooler.. really I have no complaints.. we need every bit of rain we can get.. we are pretty much dessert out here.. other than this year..
Our gardens are just now getting set to give us produce.. Tomorrow I will have peas, japalenos, lettuce, spinach and beets.. and brocolli..
