fencer,thank & congragulation.keryo-pente is a good choice.this is becoming a great site for fun,strategic games.a question,why must we,in keryo-pente,start at the centre? I should/will search for official rules.haved played it before elsewhere,could place pieces anywhwere.not questioning your judgement,just wondered why.
have you ever considered a game for more than 2 players?would anyone like that here(please comment people).have you ever considered chiness chess(xiangql),it has interesting strategy.
thank you fencer for not giving anyone any static about posting jokes.it makes for a nice community feeling.many site operators become great control freaks with many irrational rules about what can be said.people leave real fast.as long as its not vulgar or hate-mongoring.what's the harm.
anyway,my idea, how about a separtate board for "game humour".
also,how about,each week fencer,posting on a board a question.members can post a humourous answer.you could decide on the"best answer of the week".
example question: did you take out the trash?
example answer:yes,to a dinner & a movie.
harley, thanks for the positive attitude.my idea exactly was a tourny that was each player playing each game once with each other player.but this would really be a marathon.more realistic maybe would be this idea, but for just each catagory of game.eg.:a backgammon tourny consising of a match that was 1 of each backgammon game variant.
hi fencer..i have an idea.how about a tournament consisting of each player playing 1 game of each of all the games,or just all games in each game catagory.whether or not you like this idea, can you tell me,is it possible to create a tourny like this?anybody thinks this idea is ok?
ok,I was told I should share this story with you all.it i not made up,I found myself suddenly in this situation a few years ago.funny how you can find yourself in a weird scene so quick.anyway,my best friend natasha went a waterfun park.went down the fast waterslide ahead of natasha.after landing laughing,we noticed she was topless, bikini top had come undone/off/was lost.she grabbed me pulled me ito her, hugged me.we had to stay like that till we found the top.by which time our friend cindy was i stitches.
Hannelore, you have just stumbled onto the truth.the pillsbury dough boy is the alien leader of a plot to take over the earth.he & his agents are from the planet "generalmills".like in the invasion of the bodysnatches.reports of people being attacked by grand bisquets, buttermilk biscuits or dinneroll tubes have been have been reported in canada & the USA.infected by this alien dough, people are turned into fashion & decorating zombies.
caution,watch for symtoms of:
wanting to move furniture.
increased desire to shop at escada & the gap.
thinking donna karan is kool.
understanding calvin klein.
awakening desire to see martha stewart topless.
using the expressions "la dolce vita","chic" or "pret-a-porter".
this did not work on you Hannelore beacuse you aleady have great buns.
take no offense, please,we should all not take ourselves to seriously & have the ability to laugh at ourselves.it shows character.I have several close friends who are blonde or redhead, all are bright & fun to lick at backgammon[wink].

Subjekt: Re: Just wondering-flaw re multi-user policy
dream,I agree,mult-ID uers are cheating.
www.itsyourturn.com is an example of a bad policy choice tho.I am a member,I use/and have friends that have no home PC,so must use - a public use computer at schools, libraries, community centers.
many young adults & computer newbies start off at at such places.
so you find the situation were many users who dont even know each other, are using the same IP address.
IYT has a policy of allowing one user per IP address.so it creates a problem for public users.usually they end up emailing the help area of IYT,explaining the situation.IYT then makes allowance.
but in many cases, people just give up on IYT.
this is not a good policy for business,as it discourages people from using the site.
I wrote to IYT about it,suggesting, maybe they think about a better solution.brainking is my fav site,if they decide on a policy re multi-users,I hope it is done in a way that will not discourage users.
juste pour rire
old backgammoners never die, they just get blotted out.
blondes like backgammon because it has a bar & they get hit on.
(just kidding,I'm no chauvinist.most of the blondes here are sharp, sly.anyone who has ever played backgammon against them here knows this)
hi fencer..ty again for creating my idea for crowded backgammon..frankly,I'm blown away.had another idea for an original variation.undecided as to whether it was playable,we tried it on a real board.it was fun, really interesting strategy.ok,so here's the idea.reverse backgammon(or maybe othello backgammon).board is set up like original backgammon.when you hit a blot, its color is converted to the color of the opposing player.we tried playing it 2 ways from this point :
1-the blot changes color then remains were it is.
2-the blot changes color and is sent to the bar to start.
both work,could be 2 variations.
we found that this is a quick win if one player is much better than his opponent.or it can be a struggle for 2 good players.what do you think?
steve
this is too kool.I had this crazy original idea. come to mind about a "crowded backgammon"variation...posted it to the bulletin board here feb.11..never expected fencer would consider it..let alone create the game.biggest surprise was he did it so quick.thank you fencer
hi fencer..great site..great game variations to try..the site is not slow on webtv..2 good features..I tried to send you an idea I had by email if this is a dp..ignore one.how about "crowded backgammon"..a variation..setup just the standard board..but with an extra 5 blots for each players on the bar at the start.only rule change = on a players move..removal of blot from bar is optional, can move a blot not on the bar..what do you think?
also - provisional BKR's in italics are hard to differentiate from BKR's esp on webtv..maybe a diff text color would be easier for us all.would not be a dificult prg change.is it worth the trouble, all welcome to comment.
Subjekt: backgammon race, blondes & bars,an idea to share
does anyone else love backgammon race?
is it true blondes like to play backgammon because it has a bar?(gee, just thought of that)
only kidding,no chauvinist here.most blondes I know are clever.
old backgammoon players never die, they just get blotted out.
does anyone else love scrabble or upwords?
I am planning a webpage on my website(see link below)with links & comments about good games (esp board & card games).there will be a sub heading for links-games-accessible on webtv
also-games-word games
if anyone knows any, please comment(or any clever blondes) - steve
