I'm also on webtv, and it usually happens after I click on "move and go to next game"... What I do, and it works every time, is when that happens, I click on one of my "fav" buttons to get me back to the main screen. Then I click on a game, and after making my move, instead of clicking on "move and go to next game", I use "move and stay here". From this screen I click on the red numbers that show at the top of the page next to "main page", and that will take me to the next game. I do this 2 or 3 times, and after that the white screen disappears and I can use "move and go to next game" again.
Hmm, I don't know BBW, I'll monitor it more closely - I don't have enough experience to see whether that's what's happening. Thanks for the suggestion!
Fencer, on some of the regular backgammon games, the option to "swap dice" has disappeared.... that has to be the only explanation for my losses.. ;o)) Could you check that please? Thanks!
I do have automatic log-in, which sometimes gets me straight to the main page and other times not. I have a webtv. I never had this problem before, it started yesterday (Tuesday).
Does anyone else have log-out problems? When I try to log out, it just brings me back to the main page. I disconnected, then went back but the problem is still there.
I have to second Bernice on this, it took me a couple of hours to get back on, after being "booted off" while playing. The new options on making moves are nice, but I'd rather see the efforts go to just enabling us to get on this site in the first place. It's not a matter anymore of making some moves on my games, but whether or not I can get on the site.
Yes, it's better today, but then I didn't get on till after midnite.... ;)
Fencer said to please be patient, he's working on it and hopes to have the problem fixed in the next few weeks.... ;o)
Actually, on the 30th it happened THREE times - on top of that I can't even access the game I was in the middle of playing. Sorry, but I am definately NOT a happy PAID subscriber right now!
It seems like every day around 3:30 central time, USA, this site goes haywire, telling me it's too busy to be used right now.... this lasts at least a couple of hours. This is very frustrating!!!
I'm with Bernice - it wasn't just slow, it kept saying that the site was too busy... I couldn't even log out, just got stuck. I just turned off my webtv and tried a few hours later when it was ok. This happened late afternoon, central time USA
I have not been alert enough to document the times, but probably every day there is a time when the site is so slow it's not worth waiting for, and maybe every other day *at least* I can't access it at all for at least a couple of hours. I know Fencer is and has been doing a great job, but I have to admit this is getting annoying and I hope it will be permanently fixed soon.
I get them too, I think it only happens to us webtv-ers? When it happens, instead of using the "move to" buttons, I use the "go to main page" button for a while. I check the "move to" button every once in a while, and eventually they start working again.
Thanks Harley and Blaze - what I meant if you have already started one or two games, will it effect either player's rating if you then delete the following games when they come up? Sorry, I wasn't very clear. ;)
Could someone clarify this please: for a knight, it says that you can enter 1 tournament for each game. It also says to leave at least 5 open spaces for each tournament. So, if I'm playing 35 regular games I could only sign up for 3 tourneys, right? And if one of them has 12 players, I would not be able to participate? In other words, I can not enter one of each tourney unless I have an empty game board?
