A good laught, lots of swearing in it though but rated 15 here.
He hates smokes, drinks, hates kids you name it! Very enjoyable! Does that sound strange? LOL!
Rose: I've seen it, its really different to what I expected, definitely worth a rent - especially if you like Johnny Depp. He's great in it, gives a totally different Willy Wonka than Gene Wilder did. Just don't expect the exact same story if you watch it!
It's Great i went to see it today and it Brilliant. The graveyard scene especially, was exactly how i thought it would be, and pictured it to be from the book.
harley: I think the Quidditch Cup should be the most spectacular scene of the film and it's very small. Also, like in the last one, they don't explain well the story and who hasn't read the book recently may not understand. But to the fans this one is a must.
grant: I want to say he either talked about it in the commentary of the Clearks X DVD edition (10th anniversary edition), or it was on his "Evening with Kevin Smith" DVD. I think it was one of those places that he talked a little about this next Clearks
grant: If I remember right, when he got together with everyone and got all the "extras" and such for the 10th anniversary DVD of Clearks release, at that time he asked many of the people involved if they thought he should go ahead with clearks 2 or if he should leave it alone so he does not take "away" from the original - and I think everyone really liked the idea of the next movie so Smith jumped abord. It was not that he did not want to do a clearks 2, but he did not want to mess up the "cult" standing of such a classic movie of the original clearks..... or something like that if I remember correctly.
Subjekt: Re: Dr Who what where? LOL! No its because it
Mousetrap: They do show them now and again on UK Gold and channels like that. A lot of people only like the episodes with the daleks so they get shown the most. You can dip in anywhere though, you don't have to watch it all from the beginning, you could watch the new series without ever having seen any of the old ones.
Subjekt: Re: Dr Who what where? LOL! No its because it
harley: was not on subtitles in those early days like everything else and I din,nt understand what was going on. So when the new series came on I guess the moment had already passed and I could,nt get interested lol! They will have to restart it from the beginning so I can watch it!
Summertop: I was happy to see the father scold his son for using one of the words and I feel that I am getting "picky" in my old age, but I ahve to add: why did he have to say, "You know you aren't allowed to use that kind of language to describe your brother"? Personally, I would have thought it would have flowed much better to have him say, "You know you aren't allowed to use that kind of language." Picky, I know.
whatdidyousay: Foul language in movies targeted to kids drives me NUTS. Is the movie industry intentionally trying to persuade our kids it is OK to curse? Why else would the have kids cursing in a "Kids" movie? It would be just as believable with out it.
Summertop: It's a kid pleaser, definitely. A couple of bad words surprised me. Nothing awful, but still surprised. Once again, I learn that I should have checked out screenit or moviemom before I went.
Has anyone seen this movie yet? I took my kids to see it. They loved it. I didn't see ANYTHING new in it. Very predictable. The fighting siblings got real old after a while. Put stars (space) behind Jumanji and you have Zathura. Not a great movie, but again, my kids loved it. They must be easier to please than I am.
i heard terrible things about alone in the dark in a few reviews. but descent is definately worth watching, its better in the first half in its exploration of the chlostophoric atmosphere b4 everything goes crazy but it maintains a decent jump factor.
Mousetrap: You're kidding?! LOL its brilliant! I don't watch much TV and I must admit I wasn't looking forward to the new Dr Who series because I didn't think it could even come close to the old ones, but I did watch it and I was glad! If possible it was even better than the old series, and I'm a huge fan of it, always have been. Tom Baker was 'my' doctor, but I love them all. Christopher Eccleston was an excellent choice. I'm not sure about the new guy who's taking over from him though!
I've seen Mindhunters, thats great! I looked at the descent, but it didn't look that good from the cover. One we did watch that was surprisingly good was Alone in the Dark.
the descent is a good horror if your looking for that kind of movie, its even a british movie!! or you could try mindhunters which is a decent thriller.
I think it 9 people trapped in a house. It caught my eye when I was at the video shop but I didn't get to look at it properly.
I like Billie Piper, I thought she was great in Dr Who.
Mousetrap: ROFL I know what you mean!! I want to see House of 9, has anyone seen that yet? Or Spirit something... with Billie Piper. Ghost Spirit or something, I forget the title!
Mousetrap: Oh fantastic, I'd love to do that! Sounds like great fun and it raises awareness too. Thats really great, I've never seen signed Chrismas carol singers in any town, more clubs should do it!
harley: Yes I try and get there once a week. This time of year we always practice signing for Christmas in the town center in order to raise money for a mini bus for the club. Its great fun!
