This tournament shound have a 30 day limit and no bonus, but it times out in under 3 hours. It does not make sense.

purplehawke: To learn more about the different time limits, check out this article: http://brainrook.com/archives/54-Time-limit-for-games-on-BrainKing.html

I've wrote it up awhile back since the fischer clock games can really fool many people - heck, I don't even sign up for those types of games anymore. Anyway, I tried to explain with examples in the article and many have found it very helpful in explaining how the different time limits work.

Jim Dandy: Did you set the option of "Days after the deadline before a tournament with not enough players is deleted:" to 7 days, or 29 days (with I think 29 days is the max)? Of course now that it is deleted, there is no way to check I don't think.

Jim Dandy: Plus I believe you can still edit the start date settings before the tournament starts. So if you see that it is about to be deleted, you can edit the tournament to another date to give more time for people to sign in.

Fencer:

"the ideal form of the last rounds should be 1-4 3-2 or 1-8 5-4 3-6 7-2."

This is from the notes blog, and has been in practice from quite some time, but I have never thought it made any sense. You can have the top players meet in the final round (in theory), but why should the second-highest rated player get the bottom slot? Rather, it could be:

1-3 2-4 or 1-4 2-3 for 4 players, and
1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8,

which would still permit the top two seeds to meet in the "finale"

joshi tm: I received many complaints when the first tournaments had been released with random seedings.
But it can be done as an option.

Fencer, Pioneer54, volant and joshi tm: Could we have the choice of all 3.
Random could be default, then the way it is now and also the way Pioneer has it (1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8) which is fairer and the one i think would be me popular

MadMonkey: Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that it wasn't the late hour that was contributing to my lack of comprehension on this tournament. If Fencer checks this out, the question is why can't player 7 play 9? Answer: probably bug.
