JerNYC: We got up to 4 players but missed it by one. Is it just me or does it seem like nobody's signing up for tourneys anymore? I see certain games that used to fill up before you could blink sitting open now with either 1 player or no players.
I am forced to finish in second place because of the S-B totals even though the first place winner is rated almost 300 points higher than me. I deserved to have a playoff with him for the tournament title. He and I split our two games so that alone should have been given credence. This feels wrong. I am definitely not a proponent of the S-B.
Aganju: This is the only site I know of where all games have to be finished to initiate the next round. Which means an extremely slow player who is already ineligible to advance can hold up the tournament for an indefinite length of time. I generally like the site and the competition, but I find the tournaments to be the weakest feature.
I'm sure this has been discussed before but if somebody could kindly remind me why a second round can't begin for the advancing players when all others have been mathematically eliminated from contention, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
I signed up for a tournament where I think everyone will be in the same section and it's switched colors. I this means that I could end up with 16 games but I only have 13 empty slots remaining as a pawn. Will the system automatically remove me from the tournament if that's true?
furbster: It makes you wonder how many of those players are even still active on BK. Imagine finding out six years later that there's a second round? lol Yikes.
What happens when you have a draw in a single elimination tournament? Do the two players play again until there's a winner or does the person with the lower BKR advance?
