TarantinoFan: Complaining is wrong, this is just how the system works. You might join or ask someone to create either a tournament without vacation days - green dot or fischer clock one - red dot.

CRY ME A RIVER: Now that was a surprise. Such unexpected attack... The things are clear, the tourney didn't start because 2 pawns were removed who had not enough slots, blame the system, not me, please... Now you think I am some hacker or something and you attack me on public board, hmmm...
Edit: Now I understand that press monitoring lead. But I had no real conflict with you (THE HIT MAN?) You only put me twice to ignore list without reason. Personal should be removed from public boards.
Don't forget pawns need 5 free slots, otherwise the tourney won't start and is deleted with such players removed (would be better if they were removed and the start only shifted forward). Here is one eliminator, where one slot might be enough I believe:
BIG BAD WOLF: well, but when next round starts and different players advance than using normal rules, I am really wondering how can this be fixed later...
ClayNashvilleTn:
Translated: If ***Bry's Backgammon Fellowship*** doesn't lose in 2 matches - doesn't seem very likely now, then BrainKingSupporters have no chance to advance in this team tournament.
I think it's important to decide fast, for the other players know where they are and are able to find another team, what is unlikely if these are last-minute changes.
BIG BAD WOLF: yes, that's true but what if I want to limit time for one move, then my new option would fulfill this, you cannot do it with what you wrote, that way the opponent has for example 2 days for whole game, but what I wrote can result in 2 days for whole game but 5 hours for each move max. How can you achieve this now?
edit: perhaps not really 5 hours per move, but at least 5 hours added per move
BTW, for some time I was not sure about Fischer clock implementation, which of 2 possibilities it covers. Now I know, but anyway I think the other option I had in mind would have some sense too, may be it can be added. It differs by this: Limit doesnt mean the maximum time left in a game, but maximum time total in the game (the length of the game for one party)
Fencer: OK, then why did you not answer Pedro's question before, who will be the winner regarding to current tournament definition, in case the creator won't make any interceptions.
Fencer: So you mean in prize tournaments you always contact the creator and ask him who won the prize? And he can name a player who ended up in last place? Doesn't seem very logical for me.
Pedro Martínez: I wonder why Fencer doesnt answer. He already owns the prize. But perhaps he wants to consult the creator after the tournament is finished. Though in my opinion Fencer should have clear informations here before the start of tourny.
I tried something similar before, but it didnt work, I selected in the upper combo 'Froglet" and down there both 'Froglet' and 'Anti froglet'. But may be the problem was caused by other thing, I just deleted a tournament with same name before, may be it takes a while until it is confirmed so this way it was only revived with previous configuration.
Edit: I see I was wrong. It worked, so may be the problem was the first tourny wasnt deleted because one player joined already and I always just returned to the first undeleted one without seeing any change.
Or it wasn't deleted because there are four check boxes left to the delete button, and I never touched those before.
Fencer: yes, the override feature would be logical I think
I am clueless. I wanted to create a tournament with 2 games, Froglet and Ant Froglet. Whatever I try, the result is always a tournament with ALL games. Some nasty bug there or can someone help?
BTW, if some pawns would like to have some tournament, feel free to contact me and I can create it for you!
EdTrice: Thanks, Ed. Feel free to correct any of my mistakes by PM. Of course, except obvious typos But beware, don't even try to write in my native language So far it's enough for me when I am able to write quite fast and most people don't have problems with understanding me. BTW, why "an" FYI? "F" doesnt look like a vowel for me, so I would expect "a". To be honest I didn't know abbreviations use articles ("a, an, the") Though sure OT again, may be there is some language purists board also
Yes, thanks for the compliment, too. Nice to be in group of gods But now you missed you offended all those who were allowed to stay there further. What about sending them some rude PM, too; "Welcome to the club of average people. I consider you stupid enough, so you are free to play in my tournament" (don't forget the CAPS key)
THE HIT MAN: well, you offended me, I don't take you away the right to remove anyone who you want to. But it's strongly unpolite to send someone a rude PM and then putting him into ignore list without letting him answer... And if the cause is I try to win then why did you try to camouflage that by that PM you sent me?
Hmm and Pedro plays pretty fast I think, may be HIT MAN just doesn't want people who try to think and fight for win in those games and he wants only people acting like random moves generators where he would have some chance to beat them May be he should think about making prize tournaments in games like Mahajarah chess, where even a monkey could win after some training, of course with one color only
It's very nice that certain people provide prize tournaments here and there. But I want to note that this doesnt give them a right to be rude.
I just experienced such behaviour. I play in certain tournament, I have some problems with connection lately and also I am shifting a bit the moves in my games where I have less experience and want to think about strategy in those first. It costs me vacation days, so it's ok in my point of view. And surely the time will come soon I will move faster in all my games.
But back to the thread. This certain person sent me a rude message in caps, citation 'ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY OR NOT'. Time of this message was 6:17 am my local time... Morning about 8:20 I saw this message and started to write a polite answer. But meanwhile this person, which was still logged on, put me to his ignore list, so when I pushed send button, it told me it's unable to send. And this person also removed me from other tournament of his, which has he full right for, but the remaining behaviour I find rude. And if he wants fast tournament, I see no problem to put that tourney f.e. 2 days per move. But I would consider polite if he wouldn't use caps and wait for an answer first before acting the way he did. May be someone from staff can talk with him or send him a message from me or something. I don't know, may be this board is not the right place but it certainly has something to do with tournaments...
I bet Pedro Martinez will win, he is the best overall player there imho.
But it will be interesting competition, with oliottavio and George Miller participating, too. For me a lot of games is completely new and I have problems with organizing of my time for games and internet connection currently.
