BBW: I usually always strip out every link before I post it. Could have sworn I did that time, too.. but iirc my text-input was malfunctioning that day so I may have missed it in the end. :(
I guess that would depend on the fellowship. For instance, if someone set up a fellowship for Aussies and refused to let, say, anyone not an Aussie in....
If BigBrother type censorship is coming with BK2, I'll be more than willing to leave. There used to be this neat little site started by TDV called h2g2. Great little site. People got really interested and it grew very fast.
I got very interested. Had a ton of content onsite. Got invited and happily joined when they started some volunteer groups. Drew quite a few folks in for them. Was quite happy helping them out. Lots of others were, too. Lots of people. Servers expensive. Finances.. ugh!
So Auntie Beeb offers to 'help them out' by buying them out. Not TDV, just that popular site.. secretly, of course, and the foop was story for different nightmares. They closed it down and hid all the content (kidnapped it, actually.. no one had the chance to remove their intellectual property) while she had the chance to run her grimy little fingers through everything making sure it was okay for kiddies to read. Introduced proactive moderation and a host of other neat little 'rules'.
It's not been the same since. Lots of people left. And that was a -free- site!
Caissus, why do we need a story board? Why do we need a debate fellowship? Why do we need a scrabble fellowship? These aren't about BK games. Why? Because people want a place to get together and talk. Having discussion boards and fellowships on BK mean we/they can play games -and- keep an eye on new postings just by checking the sidebar. :)
Everywhere before this, all I've seen from Fencer is, "It is up to the BigBoss who and what is allowed within his/her fellowship." This is apparently not the case. It's disgusting.
I find the whole thing repulsive, and an insult to adult women everywhere. Not the cave-talk, which I never saw, as I'm not a member, but the reactions. It should never have left the cave. Those who were offended with the banter within the cave should have left the cave. It's easy enough: There's a link on each fellowship homepage, "remove me...".. do so and stop whining.
Bumble: Well, kind of, I guess. :) It has oft been said that when you assume you make an *ss out of you and me, and the word itself lends to that definition. ;)
MM: Yes, the fellowship news board is the one to which I referred. I've noticed it in both mine, so I'm going to ass-u-me it isn't only mine which is affected thus. ;)
Is anyone aware that the subject line of a news board post is not posted on the fellowship page? Is there a reason for this? Is it an oversight? Will it be fixed in BK2.0? Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled rant.
<Aw.. doggonit, I missed it again. :> (I think.. either that or I just forgot it, which is pretty much the story of my life. ;)
At any rate, before I forget this part, it's been suggested to me I throw out another invite for anyone interested in honing their gothic skills (Gothic Chess and Gothic Checkers), or just for having fun with it, see Gothic Practice. We have rated and unrated tournaments awaiting signup for each game.
Thanks, MM. For those that may have declined to follow that link, Gothic Practice is just that. A fellowship to practice Gothic Chess and Gothic Checkers, with tournaments both with and without affecting BKR.
