Thema: Re: All those new games Thanks! But still no....
Fencer:
On this site they explain why:
8. A man or king may not jump over the same opposing man or king more than once.
9. Captured checkers are not removed from the board until all jumps made on the move are completed, and the hand is removed from the capturing man or king.
(It is only in rare instances that rules 8 or 9 affect the play of a game. They can have the effect of reducing the number of captures possible on a move. In most of these cases a king is the capturing piece. On very rare occasions these rules, either separately or in combination, will result in a king being forced to terminate a series of jumps on a square from which it will then be captured by an opposing man or king which itself would have been captured were it not for these rules.)

Well, Fencer I still miss International Checkers Can you add that game please?
The Frog Legs game is pretty cool, but, I know you hate checkers, I am still in these two years missing the checkers game played most over the world. International checkers wouldn't be too difficult to implement, I think. Is there any chance I will play this game?
This game request is not only my thoughts, I know a lot of (potential) players still want this game supported by Brain King.
Also try Chinese Checkers (a 8x8 Halma type game but the pieces are in the first two rows; 16 instead of 10)
I think I mentioned this earlier, but since Fencer has "site-improving"-moods I will ask it again. On this page, Perseus shows for the team (average player) BKR a zero. But I think the team has already a rating: the players' average BKR on the games included, and those meaned. This way the tournament will be seeded better.
If we look at a tournament with random games, we see a ugly "no rating"-phrase istead of a nice number. Also the ratings of the upcoming Team tournament is 0.
So...
How about the change that 0 or No Rating for a number that counts as the average of all the player's ratings for the game types that there are in the Random Tournament?
nabla: During Boats a doubling cube... interesting. Well, the backgammon scoring system has also a condition factor, so the BB scoring will be 1 point for each boat left times the Doubling Cube?
AbigailII: In ponds, there's no option to resign too. Sometimes when a player resigns, they just put in a bid of 0, just telling that to their friends, (that's not resigning, that's cheating!).
Harassed: Yep, that stinks. Also the same way for TG. A timed out game causes the player removed from the tournament. And for resignations, mmm, what about... Players can't resign? (also that's a severe warning, so that should be in 72 pixel size letters described in the FAQ section)
I like Triple Gammon, a great new refreshing type of tournament. That gave me another idea for any game that uses highest points to win (like Froglet, Assimilation and Mancala, or even Anti Backgammon):
Round Robin, two standard games per player: Instead of scoring one point, players score points equal to the outcome of te game. E.g if a Mancala game ends in 30-18, player A scores 30 points to his total and player B scores 18. BKR resolution as normal. If all games are finished, count all points scored in all matches, highest wins.
This way of playing destroys Mancala and Cheversi advantage, since every player is White AND Black against every other player, trying to score as most points as possible.
I would request a "Game Request" Discussion Board page. Sometimes I just read very good ideas for new BK games on other discussion board, but they get buried in there and will be forgotten.
Well, I'm coming home after three weeks of non-BK activity, well, say, holiday. I log on, a few time outs, but I knew that; those were games with a no free days time control. But there is something else; the number of new posts in the BK main Discussion Board was over 200 and the the active duscussion three weeks ago is totally buried.
So here my question:
Have you ever thought of using a discussion board system, what almost every forum uses, with seperated subjects and so on?
Triple Gammon is fun! So how about making some expansions of this game type:
Multi-Game Triple Gammon: Players play a n-game match-> the outcome of the match is the number of points each player get. So, if in a 3 game match player A scores one gammon and player B scores 2 games, then player A gets 3 points and player B gets 2 for that game.
Team matches triple Gammon style: Or even better: Team matches Multi game triple Gammon style.
AbigailII: Mmmm Interesting. Same question from me for the game of Horde Chess.
Coan (BBW):
Bankroll (especially in TDP) sounds extremely exiting and I'ld like to see that one in Brain King action soon. Altough the game increases the luck factor (rolling a straight at once saves two turns) it also increases the strategy factor and the planning factor A LOT. Interesting....
ngsinan: AbigailII is right here. Bridge is a super game, but you have to take lots of notes to play, which is not good for gaming experience.
4 Player games are great to implement here at BK, Something like Ataxx 4, Halma 4, Dice Poker 4(or even more!) or Ludo 4 where board position matters only, is good to implement at a Turn Based Game Website.
Tournaments(discuss) Show tournaments created by me only This page contains a list of all defined tournaments. You can either browse running tournaments or join a new tournament waiting for players.
How about an extra link: Show only tournaments where I'm signed up?
