Gabriel Almeida: Thanks for your response and offer. In fact, I've been thinking of posting a long response about "everything what happened here happened for a good reason", but I think it's not necessary because it would only start another endless flame war.
diogenysos: Of course. Whoever offers a reasonable price, can own this site. I have no problem with it (and, honestly, it would be a great relief for me).
joshi tm: I am quite busy developing the Android application so until is it finished, new games are not very likely. After that, there is a good chance because I've already received some very nice tips.
diogenysos: You know, the timeout system had been created a long time before introducing 1 hour games, so it is possible that it is not the best suitable solution for this specific time control. I'll look at it.
coan.net: If you roll a six and another number, would it be taken as 2 separate moves? What if you roll 66? Or would sixes be nothing special in this variant?
rednaz23: That's how it worked 10 years ago, system messages had been sent only if your opponent made the final move. But a lot of people has asked to be informed each time a game is finished, so I had changed it. Nobody complained about it since then.
rednaz23: Well, if your employer blocks only domain names containing "brainking.com", maybe it could be solved by using IP address instead. The only problem is that images should be loaded from IP (instead of i.brainking.com) as well but it might be easy to implement. I will look at it when I have some time.
pedestrian: It was removed because I did some changes to the game structure database and the algorithm of determining visible public invitations had been negatively affected by the mentioned feature. It is possible that I will reactivate it in the future but the overall performance is always the most important thing.
MadMonkey: It does not work on team tournament signups because it would require some more complex changes in the code, so I better think it over before messing with the current structure.
pedestrian: Actually, there used to be a 1000 games limit when the site had been launched. However, some active player had complained that "it says that Brain Rook can play unlimited number of games, so I want to have 10000 of them!" and I had been too naive to try to address every single request, no matter how absurd it was. Now I really regret it.
In other words, I am seriously thinking of reapplying the 1000 games limit again. At least for players who have serious problems to play more games than they can handle.
El Cid: I want to limit the number of games shown anyway (100 max would be good). That should solve it. "Don't use Opera!" would be another workaround.
tonyh: Actually I don't take it seriously as much as 10 years ago. Since some people are never satisfied, it's not worth the effort. Don't take it personally. I mean that I have many other interests and BrainKing is just one of them. Not the only one.
Thom27: I don't know. I won't pretend that backgammon is my favorite game (because it is not). Instead of a thread full of theories, can you give me some IDs of games that were affected by it?
MadMonkey: All right, it is ready and when I finish some other minor things, it will be uploaded and activated. Regarding changes to this version of BrainKing, I think I will actually do some of them, in order to make the upgrade process (to 3.0) more convenient. The only thing that cannot be easily modified is the game model, it is safer to rewrite it from the scratch.
