Tuesday: On Grand Funk's album 'Closer to Home'- the last song is I'm Your Captain

On my Grand Funk Railroad 'Collector's Series' CD, the song is combined, listed as Closer To Home/I'm Your Captain
so now I get the pleasure of listening to them both again and seeing if there's a difference

My brother-in-law sings the song to me every Sunday night- especially the part "I'm your captain- listen to me.."

He's the captain of our bowling league...I'm not very good at listening to him

Thema: XP8
The Brand New album from rising electro stars XP8 - and a breath of fresh air blasting into the EBM / Electro scene. Featuring the production talents of Sebastian Komor ( ICON OF COIL ), "( Hrs:Min:Sec )" delivers XP8's fantastic combination of classic techno elements, mixed with psychedelia trance and traditional hard-edged EBM, together with boosted up beats and grooves, new rhythmic structures and the adrenaline rush of driving synth-lines. With layered vocals / effects ( reminiscent of Nitzer Ebb ) and with tracks ranging from 90 to 165 BPM, "( Hrs:Min:Sec )" offers sonic variety for clubs or the home - an exhilarating journey into the world and minds of XP8.

baddessi: Most of this projects are non-comercial. They are not promoted and difficult to find. You can hear only in some specialized clubs.

This last project, In the Nursery, gave to amazing shows in Lisbon, one of them 10 years ago. They have a fab female singer from Goa. Their music moves from the neoclassical to the industrial scene. If you like Michael Nyman and Phillip Glass, you will like this project. Highly recommended... :)

Thema: In the Nursery
The sixth title in ITN's acclaimed Optical Music Series, "Electric Edwardians" features 31 pieces of music specially composed for films from the Mitchell & Kenyon Collection, bringing to life the bustling streets of Edwardian Britain, capturing in vivid detail the everyday lives of ordinary people at work and play. Supremely evocative of a bygone era its combination of beautiful and heartfelt music is both emotive and poignant without sentimentalising the material or ignoring the rich musical tradition of the Edwardian period.

Thema: Solitary Experiments
German trio Solitary Experiments first new studio output for more than a year : "Mind Over Matter", has them delivering their personal masterpiece. The eloquently weaved melodic tapestry of their songs are presented in huge arrangements - on a direct course to the hearts and minds of electro fans everywhere. Musical maturity spreads throughout all of the albums tracks - fresh, invigorating dancefloor electro infused with addictive melodies, driving synth lines and burning sequences...

From the song "Delight" ( recently unveiled on the fifth instalment of the popular compilation series "Awake the Machines" ) - a perfect representation of the entire album : there is hardly a melodic electro tune from the past few months that has so clearly written the phrase "Floor Filler" all over it - a devilishly beautiful song that will have fans humming its addictive chorus / melody for ages. Though putting a high focus on the melodic aspect of their songs, Solitary Experiments never make the mistake of retreating to softened up banality, taking care to attire their tracks with booming bass beats that delve into hard EBM territories and synthpop / future pop influences with thick sequences and driving analogue leads to the fore. As an extra-added fan Bonus, "Mind Over Matter" comes complete with a second CD featuring a set of the group's best and most successful tunes all delivered in exclusive live versions. New fans, who might have just discovered the group after listening to the compulsive "Delight", thereby receive a nice introduction into the band's oeuvre, whereas old followers will be delighted to receive Solitary Experiment's first ever live album as a bonus.
