reza: I think Ed Trice only put up that prize because he knows his cheating machine is better than anyone elses. He doesnt plan on paying that prize to anyone but himself. I am glad I dont play chess, and if I did it wouldnt be on a turn based site. My guess is that the majority of the chess players here have cheated at least one move. And it sounds like it is acceptable, so either dont play here or expect to be cheated when you do.

OK! Enough already....

Its quite simple. It is against the user agreement here to use a program. But, there is no way to prove the use of such help, so one must assume that others are 'cheating', and the only way to keep up with other cheaters, is to cheat yourself. This all seems quite exceptable, except for Sumarian, who admits to breaking the user agreemant.
The solution is to end Sumarians membership here, and for everyone else to cheat without admitting it, or to lose to cheaters :)

So if I put an english title in the English box, and a Czech title in the Czech box anyone who only reads Czech will see the Czech title and visa versa?

Sorry, I am still confused over this whole issue :)

Fencer: Sorry!
I am glad I was able to give you a good laugh anyway :)

I guess I am just confused as to when we make a new pond run there are boxes for Czech and for english? What do they do differently? Is it a matter of the alphapet for each language or something? I mean, when I type english in the czech box it comes out the same as if I type it into the english box, doesnt it? What is the difference, and the purpose for two different options?

Thanks!

When we create a Pond Run and use the option for Czech or English, doesnt what we write get translated into the other language? We have had problems where we make a felloship for a specific group ie a fellowship or for pond winners only, yet so often someone who does not read english enters anyway?

I a confused as to what the Czech and English options are used for if it is not to translate for people who only read Czech or only read English?

I dont know why there cant just be a board for backgammon and variant, and one for chess and all variants, then one for line games etc... Why do we need so many seperate boards for?

Chessmaster1000: This doesnt relate to the general Brainking population. Most/many of us have no idea what gothic chess is, much less able to answer some unique problem related to the game. Maybe you could offer a contest that is more appropriate to the whole Brainking population, or keep it to the chess/gothic chess boards only :)

I jsut had someone time out of their games while on auto vacation.

With the new year everyone should have a new 30 days and with weekends etc, how did they time out so quickly?

14. Januar 2005, 00:45:39
Czuch
Right now you can Hrqs.
But it might not be that way long.

I am waiting an extra 30 days for a player who has been kicked off the site to time out!

IN pro 5 in line, its supposed to be x's and o's, but I have the typical black and white circles like in regular 5 in line.

Dont get me wrong, I like it this way better, maybe it is a webtv thing?

6. Januar 2005, 04:28:45
Czuch
This is ridiculous, that someone can be kicked off this site, yet somehow get to use auto vacation days to cover their absense?

I know it doesnt seem like a hastle, but I had just started 20 games with them, and it is a long scroll down the page, plus what about if I was a pawn or had an account with a game limit, I would be screwed waiting for theses games to finally be removed from my homepage.

rod03801: LMBO..... I do know some people on here do enjoy the outdoos, But you are hardly alone, I think. Most people are Brainking enthusiests, and only go outdoors to get to their car to get to work so they can get on Brainking!

Did you guys get that nasty freezing rain like we did up here Rod? I saw a few flipped over cars today, not much fun! Happy New Year!

Emne: Re:
Eriisa: Globs are there for when a mod isn't available. Nothing more than that.

If one is a Glob as well as a Mod and they are not here.... see my point? If you are not here to moderate your board and a Glob needs to fill in, but you are also the Glob, that doesnt help much.... I thought the reason for having multiple Mods was so there would be 24/7 coverage anyway, why then do we need Globs? I mean some boards already have 5 moderators, why do you also need a roaming Glob too, if their only purpose is to fill in when a Mod is not around?

Plus I have stated before If the purpose for multiple MOds is to insure 24/7 coverage why do some boards have 3 or more people all from the same time zone?

OKa, maybe I wil have to move this to the rants fellowship now :)

I would like to see all of the global moderators removed from the ranks of 'regular" moderators on all public boards, to make room for some "rookies" to get some experience. Since the global moderators can already access and moderate on any board anyways, why not open up a few spots for some others willing to help out?

I see a box when I do *56 *

But how did everyone know that was the numbers used? Couldnt it have been any number without a code? Or do you see something I dont?

The problem is solved..... It was because I am on webtv, and had checked the box to enable Java script. It has been this way for awhile now, and never presented any problems before. Anyway, I unchecked the box, and all is well

I have these large blank boxes between the subject box and the message box in discussion boards. They get highlighted by my curser, like a link would, except they dont go anywhere. Whats going on.

I was going to offer that advice too Bad Bishop..... but I have been told that In Iran the government routinly inspects letters and packages, mostly for sexual explicit purposes, but that any cash found would likeley be confiscated :(

Thats right Mehdi.... its on Rezas profile that he had to have someone else pay his membership for him because Iran does not have a way to do it I guess. Sorry no one will step up to the plate for your membership, so far... Maybe its time for Iran to get into step with the rest of the modern world, or maybe you could start a game playing website for Iranians :)

But if you guess the highest and tie with someone else, nobody gets the bonus? For example I guess 20,000 and so does someone else, neither of us gets the bonus, and therefore have nothing left to guess in the next round, and be eliminated?

Also, after round 1, someone may have more left than anyone else, and be able to guess their maximum and be gauranteed a bonus for another round of guessing?

It sounds interesting. It doesnt sound like there really can be too many people, but it may take quite awhile anyway.

13. December 2004, 21:52:39

So, is it that we determine how many "point" or whatever they are called to put into the pond, trying to put as few in as possible without being the person with the least amount in (or tied with the least amount)?

Then the person or persons with the least amount in gets eliminated, then do it all again with the remaining players? Something like that?
