I've been involved in game design and a lot of ideas that sound good dont actually make interesting or even playable games. It's best to play test the ideas and make adjustments as necessary.
For convenience could we find listed on our profiles the names of members who have us designated as enemies or where a member might have us on hide. This doesn't have to be public but would save wasted responses.
To save all the bickering about ratings, it might be an idea if they were converted to catagories, for example A-E, they would still be useful for finding suitable opponents yet there would be no fine detail to worry anybody.
I would imagine in the river was the same as on land, I'm trusting you to interpret the "chinese" spirit of the game for incomplete rules, main problem for me is can the mouse in the lake kill a mouse on land?
At your site the rat can eat another rat when leaving the lake but cannot do so with an elephant.
Redsales: I'm sure you can buy a set locally and ask some Chinese for a ruling(?)
I just did a quick search (Shou Dou Qi), one source claimed that the elephant can also kill the mouse ie they're of equal value in respect to each other, I'm sure this is wrong and that the mouse always wins, another question is whether or not a mouse can eat another mouse from the lake, I think not but I dont remember the situation being covered in the rules in my set, all online sources I looked at say the lions and tigers can make both long and short leaps.
Also animals of equal value can eat each other, mouse cannot attack from the lake, no animal can occupy it's own den and any animal in a trap can be eaten by any other animal. Maybe that's all, Redsales could check the Chinese rules if there's any doubt.
In this the internet age our main form of physical exercise is that of clicking with the mouse finger, without regular and profuse clicks one'll keel over smitten by a cardial infarction. Treasure those extra clicks man, they're what's keeping you going.
WHAT? Baby, baby, baby, if you your sweet self are engaged elsewhere, for example in the futile clicking on full tournaments, you will not see that the oppo's still made no moves, it don't speed up the games themselves but it reduces the chances of noticing that one's partner hasn't moved, or to re-express it "is playing slowly", savvy?
If Fencer adds a "tournament full" indicator there'll be more complaints about players moving slowly, just enjoy those extra clicks and you'll be fine.
My god, how thoroughly impolite of me. MidnightMcMedic: please accept my apologies, I didn't mean to suggest that your rating is lower than that of any of your opponents.
Emne: A less controversial request (if such a beast roams the woods).
When submiting a move and going to the message box can we be directly sent to the most recent message please? We probably chose to go there to delete a result notification and in any case it doesn't increase the number of clicks.
