thad- i have never played at pente.net so i must take your word.
the board has markers 3 away like at .net, and dsg, they are there for opening move restriction, there is also a marker at 6 out, most likly from the origianl go boards...
very funny taurec, but so far you have not proved your wise at all : )
G7, is the center if that helps you : )
as for the other markers, why should they be there? the markers are used for opening restriction games.... <lets first player know were they can play there second move>
you play that 13x13 bs (small pente), and games were there is no opening move restriction in effect (open pente).
when will people learn 13x13 pente was IYTs invention, AND iyt WAS WRONG!
I find it interesting players are caring more about the game board, draw buttons and other things that dont matter... <hell why is the board green????>
Everyone should be trying to think of a way to make the game more fair for black!
thad-
K10 is the center... make a sticky if you cant remmber
dont click or except draws...
Regarding The "name of Pente"
Let's start spliting some hairs!
You must remember that the real game "Pente" is played on a 19x19 board with opening move restriction. Its getting a bit out of hand with wanting to rename the game.... "Original Pente" "Pente" "Pro-Pente" "13x13 Pro-Pente" just so that the mistake by IYT can be made proper.
One example (with chess).... Bhavisya-Purâna- the original chess, shâhmât is for when it traveled to Persia, Échecs from the crusades in Persia, then Ajedrez for the Spanish who got it from crusades, Schachspiel for the germans who got it from the spanish and of course the last move in history for chess Ludus Scaccorum which is classical Latin...for the church. This way chess has been mapped out through history so that all
Players can be happy with its development.
One more thing (not off topic).... I think a great idea (also borrowed from chess) would be.
The game chess is played today according to the Laws of Chess (or Chess Code) as formulated by the World Chess Federation, officially the Federation Internationale des Échecs, or FIDE. The World Chess Federation controls world Chess events and is in charge of the revising and interpretation of the rules of the game.
Why not create a Pente federation so that rules can be upheld and variations properly controlled.
Kevin im not trying to pick on you but you said: "what i have noticed is that no one is complaining except the serious pente players" thats because we know what the game Pente truly is..you have only played 3games here, you dont have to many running and you told me that you are new to the game... what i am trying to say is, you dont know much about the game or about the real rules...why do you care so much about what happens?? Let the people who play the game and understand it...decide what would be best.
if the game of pente is played on a 13x13 board it changes the hole game, PENTE was invented to be played on a 19x19...if this board is changed then its a new game. mabe a new name for this new game???
13x13 pente and kpente is wrong! its not a variation of the game but a mistake by the people from IYT... it should be removed! no one plays other games on boards of differnt sizes!
