TexasToest: That is tough to do,trust me,but the adrenalin does kick in............I just came across this rarity. The first time I saw this band I was very disapointed,no stage charisma,Smmy Hagar blew them off the stage, but there is no denying their talent.I wisely caught them again 3 years back, great show. RIP Brad Delp
TexasToest: I guess they have always appealed to my philosophy that good entertaiment grabs you by the throat and doesn't release you till they decide they're finished.A good entertainer takes control, they shouldn't request it.Keep in mind this philosophy only applies to the stage.
Emne: Re: remember the big power outtage on the eastern seaboard a few years back?
TexasToest: um,it was the night I was to see STEELY DAN,.........for some reason ole STEELY brought this fave from the 80's to mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nFvN5QH5tA
Emne: Re: ooops I googled again...cleanup on aisle 3
Tuesday: 3 night were the headliner at the T REX concert I didn't attend here in town.Next to the Queen/Areosmith tour,it is filed in the "concerts I regret missing" section.
TexasToest: You may have heard it on fm late at night,.................cheap trick were great.I tried to find one of my faves of their's ELO KIDDIES, but to no avail

I caught these guys opening for KISS back in the early 80's.I must admit I found their choreography and poser rock god presentation very funny(Accept not KISS).When they kicked into this song I was hooked halfway through,a great tune
They couldn't speak a word of english when I had a beer with them after opening for Motorhead, but the singer should have auditioned for AC/DC when Bon passed, they sound identical.
TexasToest: Apparently they have acess to films not in release, for course study.I also had him send along WAY WAY OUT,the Jerry Lewis movie,I'm not sure if it's been released since
TexasToest: I actually tracked down a university film study group to transfer it for me onto vhs,it's not availible on dvd.I paid through the teeth, but I was determined to get a copy
Mousetrap: Sorry, not up on either of them mouse.A real gem just came to mind though,Tom Robinson was an old favorite of mine back in the new wave punk days.I hope you and others enjoy this song he wrote and recorded,it became an antham of sorts for many gay kids back in the day
Emne: Re: As I prepare myself for tonites Poison concert
coan.net: They were entertaining, good ole r n r,no deep meaning. There was a point I thought had the potential to be very special musically.CC Deville began playing an instrumental version of Georgia accompanied only by the keyboardist.I was just settling in to enjoy it when he all the sudden ended it with some crazy speed guitar, maybe he didn't trust the audience enough to play it to completion,oh well.
I didn't mind Damn Yankees,a bit of a super group.I had thought they played You can still rock in America,I guess they kinda did,Jack Blades was in both Night Ranger and DY,and they covered it,good song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQFTqZscWsU

I have laid out my wardrobe.A Nashville Pussy t-shirt and ratty jeans(Ratt is opening)The transformation isn't complete without imersing myself in the gendre. Here is a song from the 80's hair band era,one of a handful that I actually enjoyed. They were a Canadian band now residing in the "where are they now" file. One of those numerous power ballads of 80's rock
TexasToest: You're right,I should know by refrencing that ole Carter Family song "daddy sang bass, mamma sang tenor..." lol.I had the wrong term but the right idea.Someone on another board has swung my thoughts towards a band we have discussed here before,Tesla.Very few songs give me a lump, this one does
TexasToest: Thanks for all those tasty links TT.I was never a Hendrix freak, but I've alwasys wanted to visit ELECTRIC LADY studios. So many great musicians and recordings were done there.
awesome: When you consider that we come into the world in diapers and sometimes leave in diapers, you may have a point
I have a funny story about getting the special foldout edition of electric warrior autographed by a session musician back in the early 80s who was then a dj at a strip joint in Florida, but that's a story for another time.I was a T REX nut back then.I love this tune
