Jim Dandy: Awwww. That would be so cool! Hey, my aunt sent a magnifying glass that is making my reading a lot easier. So, I could read the book without a struggle.
For those who don't know, I have a couple cataracts that need to come out, and insurance won't pay for them until June. Meanwhile reading is very difficult, and I'm finding it hard to work. Tonight, though, I got copies of emails my attorney friend is sending around to certain benevolent organizations pleading my case. I kind of had to have a little tear or two over that.
Jim Dandy: Evidently. I've learned more about him since you've been reading that book than I ever knew. I'm going to look for that book as soon as I can.
TexasToest: They recount the actual death scene very early in the book,it seemed to make the end all the more difficult for this reader. He was depicted scars and all,he was a very real human being.
Jim Dandy: You are probably right about that. Jimmie Rodgers died in 1933, Bob Wills was 30, and just starting to be noticed. ank Williams ws 10. I'd agree he's the father of country music.
TexasToest: just been chatting to a couple of friends about the Led Zep gig & apparently it sold out in less than an hour, phone lines were jammed! Theres some tickets going on eBay for between £700 & £1200!!! (double that figure for US $)
Emne: Re: A scary jam from Be Bop Deluxe circa 77,don't worry,I'll get with the program *1162*
Jim Dandy: More! More! You're with the program, don't stop. I looked up that delicious little lead guitar player. He's done some other things. Interesting guy, trained in the arts. He knows what he's doing, for sure!
Emne: Re: two witches came in here with their cauldron
Eriisa:They wouldn't do that to sweet Missy Riisy. That cauldron had dead mice and newts, ano'possum tails, and bat's feet, and rotted pumpkin, and skunk spray in it, and it stunk to HIGH HEAVEN!!
Amateur rendition of Louden Wainwright's famous in (Texas and Arkansas) song. These guys are low-key, but pretty funny. This is a really scary thought!!
Mousetrap: That's the only thing I could think of too. While I was asleep last night, two witches came in here with their cauldron, and stood around chanting, "Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble." And I had trouble by morning.
Emne: Re: Theme Night Postponed and computer problems
Mousetrap: That's exactly what happened. Some goblin came in and fried my monitor and my router, and ate them for a snack. I got here tonight, but late. I guess I've impressed myself with my technical knowledge. I always think I'm lacking, but when the chips are down, I seem to rise to the occasion. It surely caused me a lot of grief. I'm back up, not whole yet, but at least I can operate out here. Hard to find a job with no computer.
Texas Toest is have computer problems and had to cancel the music theme night for tonight. She'll get that together as soon as she gets up and running again.
Emne: Re: As a drummer, this song was my personal nightmere,I could never master the constant changes
Jim Dandy: Yes, but it's one of the more interesting songs. I love it too.
Hey, I heard this morning that Robert Plant, and Sheryl Crow have a new CDtogether that was produced by T-Bone Burnett. That should be interesting. I heard some snips. It might be kind of serene for some, but I'd still like to hear it. NPR doesn't have anything on it's website about it yet, but I'll keep looking.
Jim Dandy: Yeah, that is great driving music. But, Doosie doesn't need it, she's a natural speed-demon. The roads between Oklahoma, and the Hill Country aren't safe when she's en routel They issue warnings when she leaves her house.
TexasToest: They should have been huge,I first saw them at my high school, and later the caused a riot at Ontario Place. The guitarist broke his back at a very pivotal time and the never regained the momentum.
Dolittle: I hear ya about the Holly influence,Frankie's delivery was the source of much immitation when I was young,a perfect subject much like Mick, and nobody could tell if you actually knew the words,lol.........................................This tune is best suited for listening with yer peddle to the metal, top down,on the autobahn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhEU4oxQ9Qw
awesome: Uuuummmmmm, is it....oh wait...I know...*snaps fingers, scrunches eyes, looks skyward* don't tell me, is it Chris Isaak?....no wait wait, don't tell me.....it's um Elvis Costello...no, that's not it...it's Elvis PRESLEY. Is it? Am I right? Do I win anything?
Dolittle: You think he sounds like Buddy Holly? I dunno, maybe the inflection, the modulation of his voice in the performance (some call it a hiccup), but not really the sound. Of course, Holly has that velvet smooth sound of the south. But, listen again to Teenage HJead, then listen to Buddy Holly singing
