TexasToest: Thanks. Music makes the world go around. I have yet to go to Seattle and play on the sidewalk. That's one thing I'd love to do! Open the guitar case, start playing, and watch the pennies roll in! ;)
TexasToest: This is our first time playing out (this music) but we've been playing in the worship band at church for many years. Our little group has been together about 1 year trying to get organized. ;)
Jim Dandy: I tried a number of things for the percussion and could come close but then realized there are 4 measures in the Jack Jackson version where it's just the percussion. I recorded that 4 measures, and ran it through my looper. So whoever was playing the percussion on the original is the one playing wiht us. ;) There's lots of things one can do with the JamMan! I love that thing.
I have a few other songs I'll post as they get ready. In one there is a complete drum accompanyment. It's my drum machine. I just have to push the buttons at the right time. ;)
Jim Dandy: totally. I didn't think of it at the time. The hat is a Tommy Emmanuel hat and the shirt is full of different guitars. A present and I felt inclined to wear it. :)
It's one of the songs we did at our outdoor coffee shop performance. You can hear me sing. hahaha I'm only ok. But later I'll upload the girl singing. She will knock your socks off.
I'm trying to get a better video but I have to keep it under 100mgs. Hope you enjoy. Also, I do a little lead picking in it. Can you spot it? :)
Emne: Re: I hope this is taken in the proper light
Jim Dandy: I think you have made a very good point. I'd love to discuss some of the videos. Joe Satriani's video is excellent and for the guitarists out there, watching him play so effortlessly is simply amazing. I'm more of an accoustic player and lean more toward country but I love the sounds and style he brings out in his music. Alot of Satriani is technique playing which is very hard to master. But the bulk of his gift lies in his endless imagination in his guitar solos.
nivabef: Nothing. Baddessi is more than qualified to moderate this board. Having any knowledge of music isn't necessary to moderate, but having the ability to solve problems and understand how to handle people is. Baddessi has PHD in this area. She's even had to mod me a few times and we're good friends! That's another good characteristic of a competent moderator. She doesn't show favoritism. She's fair to all. ;)
Barb you do an excellent job and we're all lucky to have you on the mod team!!!
baddessi: I believe the decision was the Globals. I'd say they made the percect choice. TT sure knows her stuff. I have to say I'm impressed with her knowledge of music. She has eclectic tastes too!. ;)
