General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!

nobleheart: Thanks for tip, I'll look into your link. I remember "lady in red" being okay at best; but I imagine if you add that French flair of romantic comedy, it would have to be great!
On a side note I also remember that " the lady in red" was one of the first movies (but not the first) to get slapped with a PG-13 rating. Anyone out there know which movie was the first to recieve a PG-13 rating?
If anyone is looking for a good high-octane action with a decent plot a-la Con Air or The Rock; I thought the movie Hostage was pretty entertaining. It came out on video last week.
Rose: I agree with you about movies like Memento or Butterfly Effect. Once the so called cat is out of the bag the movie loses most of its effectivenes. The exception are movies that have "movies within the movies" that change tone upon repeat viewings such as Fight Club, Usual Suspects, 6th Sense.

Summertop: Sorry Summertop I was making the assumption that you had recently finished the book. It had been a while for me as well and I found myself digging out my copy to find the character names.
Whenever my sister and I had finished the same book we would always play casting director to see who would best fit the roles.
For example I would cast Uma Thurman for the role of Racheal. She's a capable actress coming off a popular movie pair of Kill Bills'and is in the right age range for the role. She can also look smart & sexy at the same time.
I like Aaron Eckhart for the role of Micheal. I think his star has been slowly rising and will be a very recognizible actor in a few years.
Gene Hackman for Director Pickering. I know that sounds like type-casting but that's because he is so frickin good at those cloak & dagger type politcal/governmental roles.
Anyways I'm just finishing up another of Dan Brown's book, Digital Fortress which is pretty good, but I still like Deception Point best.
Summertop: I always thought Deception Point was the best of Dan Brown's books. I thought it had great pace, a plausable enough scenario and plenty of intrigue to make a great movie.
Question, who would you cast in the main roles such as Racheal Sexton, Micheal Tolland, President Herney, Director Pickering, or Marjorie Tench? Just to name a few of the key players.
Yeah I remember rolly-polly fish heads, eat them up yum! Napoleon XIV wasn't that the one that goes "They're coming to take me away ha-ha, they're coming to take me away ho-ho he-he, to the happy home where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those bright young men in their clean white coats and the basket weavers who sit around and twittle their thumbs and toes and their coming to take me away ha-haaaa!
The last one I'm not familar with. I liked 'The home coming queen's got a gun' by Julie Brown. Japanese Car, Pencil-Necked Geek, and Dead Puppies were also a few of the classics I can remember
I used to listen to that show back around 1983-84. Wierd Al was just getting started back then. I remember Another One Rides the Bus was #1 on the "Funny 5" for weeks on end.
