Teema: Chess Rules (50 move rule)
Are you aware there are certain circumstances in which 75 moves are allowed, rather than 50?
Sometimes it takes 72 moves to checkmate with optimal play without a pawn move or capture!!!!

Now, sir, just what would those 'special circumstances' be?

Of course I know that. It is applicable e.g. for a situation with king, rook and bishop against king and rook. The other possibilities are:
1) King and two knights against king and pawn.
2) King, rook and pawn against king, bishop and pawn.
But there are more restrictions for the last two situations, especially about pawn positions.
