After making a move in Logik, I wanted to write a note to myself, so I clicked on "(edit)", wrote the note, and clicked "Submit". Then I realized I had sent the note as a message to my opponent. Not good. :D
Could the name of the link be changed from "edit" to "Edit message for opponent"?
I play many games like Mancala (against great player ljubisa popovic) trying to find possible ways from certain positions. Comes in very handy to learn. The thing is most game between good players, nearly always start out the same first 6 to 8 moves, like in other games such as Cheversi & Chess. It is always good to go over a game to see mistakes made.
So Monkey thought...........
How about a new option, to set a game from any position, against a player of your choice and play from that point. (obviously a Not counted game so nothing is effected).
I think this would be great for going back over games played, or trying new end games in Chess & Cheversi etc....
!Undertaker!:yes this is the wrong place but I can answer anyways. It is destiny. Random games are completely random what colour you get. Just happens to be a coincidence in the few games you have played you just happened to get the same. Believe it or not I once rolled 13 6s in a row( 1 in 2,821,109,907,456 odds rolling 13 dice).
I don't know if this is right board, but I have a question about waiting games. In some challenges our color in the game is random. However, in last month I accepted 5 or 6 games with random color, but my color was always the same. I would like to know if this situation happen with other people and maybe can be a bug or is only destiny. lol
ChessVariant: I know Fencer is not a fan of variants of variants, but there are a few that I think would work really well. (including the ones mentioned below)
What I would love to see are more Dark versions of many of the games (dice, fisher/random, and crazy screen are 3 that come to mind). For a person like me (who is not very good at chess), dark, dice, and crazy setups make me at least believe I have at least a some-what better chance against players who are "experts" at regular chess.
I think it's time to make this MOVE for all the variants still holding to an orthodox setup ... there is a place you can play Anti Chess with fisher setup ... let's make it available here too. I would go even further and "fisherized" both sides separately ... unexpected is what excites the most ... let's forget about opening theory and the same setup all the time ... be to chess what impressionists were to art of painting ... break the tyranny of rules ... be free to dance on the board, everyday differently ... Regards, Andy.
I think Dice Chess should be played in such a way that 16 pieces should be randomly mixed (pawns and figures)and placed on the first two rows on the board ... with one exception ... king should be always in the first row ... opening play wouldn't be boring and there will be practicaly no chance to play the same setup again ... Andy.
coan.net: Actually sending another user a money order and having them pay through paypal is ilegal. It falls under money londering legislation. However I don't think anyone would care.
ChessVariant: Sounds lovely, but can not be called MADCHESS for legal reasons.
MAD is copyrighted by Monkey plc..... and any use of such name will need his permission first
Anyway, all fun aside, Dice Chess is a great game. i think people enjoy it for a number of reasons. Of course the game is controlled by the dice, so there is al ot of luck involved, but there is also some skill. You can try to play it as like normal chess by either attack or defending. I guess it makes those of us who are not great chess players think we are great players lol. I love the game and would welcome and variant
I wonder why people like to play such a move-limited/dictated game like Dice Chess ? Is it a lack of skills to play regular chess or its sophisticated variants or just something else, like the need to have some thrill of unexpected ? I think the answer should be common for any game played with dice, including backgammon ... people like to play and risk percetage ... there are many situation in Dice Chess that chess skills do not count at all and the vision type of "what if" plays the role. Can one master the game ? Like in any game of chance and skill the better player will win in the long run. This is not the place to discuss little, tiny tricks in Dice Chess ... the only thing I would like to point out, that they exist. I propose another game of Dice Chess, but this time with 2 dice ... the funny and original feature in this game is this: one of the dice tells the player WHICH piece can be moved and the other one HOW it can move ... let's look at the example. We got 4 and 3 ... since 4 stands for a rook and 3 for a bishop, so we have two possible moves: either rook (WHICH) can move like a bishop (HOW) or bishop(WHICH) can move like a rook(HOW) ... Of course the beginning moves are somewhat limited and any (1)(?) pair will move pawns(WHICH) in few possible way(HOW) ... example: 1 5 moves a pawn like a queen ... Doubles are nothing special in this version. They just moves once for particular number/piece. there is one restriction however: pawn can eliminate opponent's king only as a pawn so the only chance to kill the enemy king by a pawn is to get 1 and 1 ... it's to limit a tremendous power pawns have in this game (there are 8 of them after all and in the first row of attack). I call this game MADCHESS, because no piece really moves like they suppose to ... with the exception of doubles ... regards, Andy a.k.a ChessVariant
Amandakmg365: If you know of another user in the USA that you trust, you could always ask them if you could send them a Money Order, and let them use their PayPal account (or whatever) to get the membership for you.
This would be outside of Fencer's control, so if the user double crosses you - you would be on your own, but I'm sure you could find someone that you trust to help you.
I sure would like something added. I love playing at this site and the other players that I always renewed a membership but that is no longer possible because Fencer took away the only way that I had to pay for it. I was using money orders. They are safer then credit cards or checks because they don't bounce. It would be nice if he could bring them back. Thank you.

I like the new feature but wonder if a left click protector could be used so for those who have family pics can stop people from for exsample copy and save your childs photo to use in a ill say bad manner....would like to hear your ideas ty
Now the game is end, when 1 player can't move anymore. When this player has more points, he wins... So not logic, because the other player maybecan make more moves. So the proposal variant is that one player can't make moves anymore, the other player still can make moves, and make more points... I hope this is understandable...
Thought i would add this to the list of games wanted
Bug Cafe have just released Cribbage I never thought it was that popular round the world, but since i sent a message out asking if anyone would like a game, i have been swamped with requests from BrainKing players.
So i think would be a great Card game for BrainKing to have
Any chance the game type lists get sorted by name? Like the team selection list in the fellowship page, for instance... It's getting harder and harder to find a particular team in such a big combobox... Surelly it won't take more than 1 hour to change it?
Like many of us, i belong to a lot of Fellowships(too many lol), Teams (ok i am only in Madhouse ones), Stairs(site & fellowships ones) etc.... and its not that easy to keep track of all that i am in. By going to different pages we can find out if there is a Tournaments somewhere to sign up for, or maybe a Stair that i can start a game in. With so many, this can take ages, so i thought, lets see if BrainKing could do it.
So how about in Settings could we have another Notify by email(or site message) that does the following:
1) Check for Tournaments, Ponds and Stairs in Fellowships i belong to, that i can sign up for 2) Check for site Stairs, that i can sign up for 3) Teams i am Captain of, open to enter Tournaments In fact anything people can think of could be added..........
With tick boxes
Then either once a day or week(whenever we set it) BrainKing would scan all Fellowships, Stairs etc... and compile it in an email (or even a site message) with the relevant details or Links to the places to go. It would certainly save time and also help boost participation in things
rednaz23: I often put some in the Madhouse Waiting Room, and the Main one, BUT as i say once created there is no way of telling which have been excepted from where
I only really noticed it earlier when i saw there were no games in the Madhouse Waiting Room. I thought, but i am sure i have some in there, but how do i find out simple, you cant
There is a very convenient option to enter multiple games at the same tournament at once... could we have a similar option to get out of severall games at once in a tournament? Entering 123 different pages to click the corresponding link doesn't seem very appealing right now...
a) Could there be a toggle of some sort where players can make there selves available or not for Team games. Some players just leave Teams when they have a lot of games and never return. It would be a great way of solving this problem. This would also help if a Team is short, we could contact those Players.
b) Players that have not been on in a month (and turned Grey). Could they either be removed automatically from the Team, show as Grey in the actual challenge as it does not so they may well get entered by mistake or if point (a) is introduced, set as unavailable.
Please consider these options Fencer, they would be so helpful
Well not to many wrote what they though of my ludo player on brainking.info so I thought I would post it here. What do you think? Would you like it to be added into brainking? Would you like it to be encapsulated into a page like other game boards or just linked to it opening in a new tab?
Quick note: On http://brainking.info/ is a working demo. If it were embedded or linked from brainking.com then your game would be stored indefinitely(close and come back later your game will still be waiting) and your wins would give you a chance to win the current months prize.
Teema: Re: Disabling auto-refresh while editing text
mctrivia: That's what I thought. Since the page is re-built anyway when I go to add/edit a note (the text field does not exist when simply viewing the game), basically anything is possible. Or am I missing something?
Teema: Re: Disabling auto-refresh while editing text
Ceiter: using meta refresh the page will refresh after a period of time no matter what. On some pages fencer does not put the command in to refresh and there for it doesn't but it can't be removed after the page is already built. javascript refresh is very easy and can be stoped.
Teema: Re: Disabling auto-refresh while editing text
mctrivia: Are you sure about that? I notice that when I go to add or edit a note, it loads an entirely new page. Surely the auto-reloading code could simply be un-included from that page (and only that page), right?
MadMonkey: I agree MM! When I started I was used to the IYT colors. Of course as time went on I got used to the style here, but it was something that held me back some when I started.
would it be possible to change the color of the white stone in the Ludo game to a more contrasting color. on my laptop the white stone is more difficult to spot quickly.
We have the option to filter the unrated games from the Waiting Games list. Can there be an option to prevent people from directly inviting us to unrated games? I usually don't like to play an unreated game (unless in special occasions, where I aggree to it to teach someone how to play, for instance). It's very disappointing to spend some time in a good game only to get to the end and see it counted for nothing. The other day I had severall pending invitations for me to accept. Since there were a few, I accepted / rejected the ones I wanted directly from the MainPage (very convenient - I can see the time settings, the opponent's name and the game type and send a greetings message to all of them at once). But there is no indication wheater the game is rated or not (and quite frankly I didn't even remeber it).
So, can there be an option to prevent these invitations, like one can prevent invitations in particular game types? Or at least some warning about the fact that the games are unrated in that MainPage list...
