Subject: Membership: How long does approvement take?
First: Happy New Year!
I am not very long here and am still learning how things go.
After winning some Brains in a Tournament, I wanted to bought a Membership. So, on Dec, 15., I selected "Tower, six month". Then there was a red dot, explained as "waiting to be approved" in my "Brains history".
But nothing happened since today. After winning another Tourney, I thought: Maybe something went wrong, lets do it again, and chose "Tower, one year" a few days ago. But still waiting...
I find all these words exchanged a little terrible sometimes. I think that the remark about the time difference is very relevant and it's worth to think about. For example, for me who lives in France, I've exactly the same time as the Czech Republic, but on Brainking there's always at least 1 hour difference. I specify that we both use summer time and winter time. So why 1 hour difference ?
If you check the running games in this tournament (TIGER TOURNAMENT ТУРНИРА НА ТИГЪРА part 7), you will see two games where no move was made yet at all: aaru-Bluefin and Aganju-aaru. However, both my games have only a day and change in time left, whereas the other game has still over seven days. If nobody ever made a move in either game, how can there be such a difference? Shouldn't both games show the same remaining time???
Bernice, I am simply responding to a public post. Do I think Fencer is trying to steal 3 Eur from you? Absolutely not. Do I think you should be asking him privately what happened and giving him a chance to explain? Absolutely.
And only when you feel wronged should you be airing this out to the public. And with evidence backing up your claim.
I don’t know Fencer. And I don’t know you. I have nothing to gain in this conversation other than sharing my two cents about what I would have done to try and rectify the problem. If you didn’t want my two cents, then don’t post publicly.
As for being blocked,….. I don’t know how I’m going to sleep tonight.
Bernice: You make it everybody's business by posting on an open discussion board. You make very unkind comments in your posts about people so who is being abused?
cd power: no, no, no. it was the 15th my time...the very day it was due in Australia, and the bank told me it was attempted to be taken on AUSTRALIA 14th
Bernice: Well, it is a public forum, so it's everybody's business. But in your last comment to Fencer, you said the bank attempts were made the day before your request, but if you think about it, you may have made the request in the morning of August 14 Australia time, which would have been Fencer's August 13 Czech Republic time, so his bank made the attempt to pull it "the day before" you did. Case closed.
Bernice: what do you mean 'stick your nose into it'?? Do you understand the term 'public forum'?? Why in the world would you post **publicly** if you don't want the public to see it and react to it???
Wow. Dirty laundry. Try a private message to figure your shit out. This sounds like computer operator error to me. And I’m giving my two cents because you’re posting this on a public forum. This is a private matter. Go public if you can’t resolve it in a fair manner. But it sounds like you never even tried.
Fencer: Look lets drop it....But I will say this...the attempts were tHE DAY BEFORE I tried to renew my membership....Now with FRACHUNEK on each one 12 times, how would PayPal know it was my time to renew.
Bernice: If you read my response carefully, you would know that I actually checked my PayPal account. The history shows only one payment (3 EUR) sent by you, which is correct. There is no way I could pull money from any other account, so any accusations of doing something on my side are just preposterous. Let's see how the mentioned events could probably happen:
1. You tried to pay for the membership on PayPal. The account was either empty, or you selected the option "bank account" by a mistake. PayPal, logically, attempted to pull 3 EUR from the bank account linked to the PayPal account. 2. The bank refused the transaction for some reason. So, PayPal received an error message, and re-tried the operation after some delay. And again. And again. Many times over before it gave up.
It could be a different scenario, of course. Anyway, whatever happens after you place an order on BrainKing and get redirected to PayPal is only between PayPal and your bank. If there was a glitch on the PayPal side, causing multiple requests to your bank, that can hardly be my responsibility.
Fencer: I have never recreated a recurring payment to any gamesite in my life, and have been here since 2000? How would my bank get your name on 12 proposed purchases...that DID come thru PayPal...Perhaps you could check YOUR paypal and see who woulda/coulda have done this. This would be appreciated by myself
Just in case anybody else has this issue: 1. Log in to your PayPal account. 2. Check the list of active automatic payments at https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/
3. Cancel everything that shouldn't be there.
Just returned from a long vacation. Hmm, interesting. BrainKing doesn't pull money from anywhere because the BrainKing account (I suppose that PayPal is meant by "BANK") doesn't use any automatically renewed subscriptions. We used to do it in the past, but it was deactivated many years ago due to some issues.
To be sure, I've just checked the PayPal account. There are eight subscription plans in the archive, and all of them were deactivated in 2009 or even sooner.
In other words, all payments for memberships must be activated by the respective PayPal account owner. And if someone creates a recurring payment, it is their own responsibility to cancel it in their PayPal account.
Bernice: Fair enough, just seems REALLY odd that would happen the day before. Maybe an auto-renewal? I don't know, just spitballing ideas. Obviously this will be for you to sort out with Filip, so I'll leave it at that. Good luck!
Bernice: Could this not have been attempts by BrainKing to transfer the funds that you were trying to renew the membership with? Either way, I'd suggest contacting Filip directly rather than relying on him reading your message here,
OK>>>>FILIP....I want to know WHO it was yesterday that tried to access my BANK account 12 times.....The persons name was FRACHUNEK??? that was why I couldnt get into my account this morning to pay my membership...Let me tell you right now, part of my account has NO MONEY TO BE TAKEN FOR GAMBLING on it...that is why whomever it was had to try 12 times and each time my bank had a hold on my account...I have to take off that directive..I am going to the police this morning for them to look into this further.
renewing membership...I am unable to renew my membership by one month for some reason...it is due today and I cant get hold my bank to enquire why I cant get it done....is there any reason at that end why I cant pay it?
Me, I prefer stop the game and lose rather than play with someone unpleasant. I didn't know we could block someone during a game. It's useful to know that.
rod03801: Thanks so much I had forgotten about the block thingy....Only ever in all the years I have been on here Blocked ONE other person....He was really obnoxious
