Gordon Shumway: I just created a Single elimination for 4 tourney (posted on Tourney board). I put in for random seeding, random starting (when applicable) & 2 wins to advance.

I wonder how it will start that one out.

joshi tm: But it indeed levels it up a bit.. In a normal game currently the Mancala stats are ca. 60% white, 4% draw and 36% black. In a 1 win match a player who starts with black has ca. 38% chance of winning (if we just look at the white/black advantage, not at player skills of course..), in a 2 wins match ca. 44% and in a 5 wins match it is ca. 47%, which is close to even.

Does anyone else ever wonder if sometimes in Poker the dice you select to roll do not actually seem to roll.
I think of the times i have rolled 2, 3, 4 or 5 dice and got exact the same numbers back.
Just seems to be a very much above average of probability (someone can work it out lol) that this is happening.
An observation really as i do not play a lot of Poker, someone who plays a lot would have a better idea i guess

That's why I always make my Single Elimination tourneys now with 2 win matches to advance. Seemed like it just levels the playing field a bit.......

joshi tm: That's not nice ;)
Well, when it comes to unbalanced games like Mancala I'd always prefer 3-wins-matches or something like that, so things get a bit more even. But why not let it be random who's white and who's black?

Gordon Shumway: Lets say we have an Eliminator 8.

The seeding would be:

1vs8
5vs4
3vs6
7vs2

In fact a second best player you will always play Black, as first rated player you'll play White all the times.

joshi tm: Might depend on who is black and who is white. Or is the higher rated player always white?

Great. I requested this feature for in some games one player hass an advantage. For example in a Mancala elimination tournament always the highest rated player wins.

Arctic Warrior: The same thing happened to me a couple of nights ago. I learned my lesson... I should always copy and save the whole profile to the notepad after I finish with a profile edit... that will solve a lot of time. :-) You could also save old versions of your profile there and can always go back to one of those... ;-)

Good luck in the future!

Is there a way to check how your icon is going to look before you upload it?  Mine always seem to be stretched vertically.

SEAWOLF2: i am sorry, i dont know webtv ... i thought all browsers had a feature top incrase text ...

my fault, please accept my apologies

(and of course noone would be asked to leave for something like this! :))

i wonder though, for non-vision-impaired (if i may call those people that way) .. i always though non-capitals are easier to read because those characters are more different than the others .. where capitals seem more similar to another (on a quick glance) .. at least for me capitals are harder to read when i read fast .. is that not the same for people who have bad vision ?
hmm .. maybe the size if more important than the differences .. small differences cant be seen when they are too small :)

i hope you can find a solution for the espionage pieces .. and will have fun

and i will be more tolerant for messages in capitals :)

Kili: Thank you. While I don't understand your explanation of auto-pass, I think I've figured out what it is (and if I'm right about what it is, shouldn't it be available in Ludo too?). My next question: where do I go to enable auto-pass? I can't find it in my Settings, which seems to me would be where it belongs...

Thanks...

* * * Never mind - I found it. The problem was that it's on the Game Filters page, which - if auto-pass is what I think it is - doesn't make any sense. But I found it. * * *
