When that tournament started, your son thought it was a fun game. Now he probably thinks that it just for kids and old fogies.

Carnie: thx. main goal is just to have fun by meeting in real and have some real playing somewhere. i think it would be nice to meet also Fencer but i don't think anyway there is a "fast" solution for brainking. i guess if it would be there would already be a solution, so i think spring is a good time in order to organize things. like date, location etc... it can even be in a small group, if there is not enough interest to do it...everything is open

Hey is there any interest in around Europe to have like a big Brainking meeting beginning 2018? We could meet for 2 days in spring 2018 in an European country with low living costs, for those who wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise...
We could have like a live tournament ...or is there already some similar projects around? We could meet in the near of Prague /Czech Republic and have a chance to see Fencer as well and might speak also in person about Brainkings future...

Fencer has replied and I sent the information he requested for the tournament.  It should be running soon.

Brian1971: I am prepared to take the risk of spending money in site as I pay through Paypal. Also even if you think this site will not be monitored where memberships fee are concerned the money would be going into an a bank account and Fencer would be aware of that.

I think we see the problem with brainking going on autopilot in 2018. If there is an issue with something like memberships or problem with paying for a prize to win in a tournament, and there is a glitch, how does this get resolved? One has to think before spending money here as it may not be as secure as when someone is monitoring it.

heavenrose: Actually he does respond to people. He responds to me any time I've contacted him. (Though I don't need to very often).
So you can't say he "never" does. He probably doesn't reply to frivolous messages though.

Perhaps he hasn't been on since Doris wrote to him. Or at least not long enough to do anything about it.

I have offered a prize tournament in Brians Pub.  It is still showing that it is not paid for.  I have messaged Fencer 3 times and I don't think he has checked his messages.  If someone knows how to get ahold of him, please let him know.

playBunny: change the name of Brainking to something similar. The company brainking goes out of  business and a new company emerges. There would be no need to honour old memberships for anyone. Perhaps offer a little incentive or discount for black rooks that continue to want to be part of the new "brainking"

Here's a hypothetical. If someone buys BrainKing, should they be expected to continue allowing Forever Rooks to enjoy full membership at no cost?

If you're a Forever Rook, try pretending that you're the buyer rather than yourself. ;o)
