redfrog: I never said i wanted to get technical. Just mentioned that someody had solved it in the first row, whether it was luck or not, the code was still solved.
BerniceC: In the Settings - Java Script page there is 3 radio buttons just under the Autosave Interval box. I used to have those smilies all over me too until I clicked On Mouse Click. Try that and see if it helps although like Fencer said "IE"
Subject: Feature request: Information about rules-changes
Modified by CryingLoser (26. February 2007, 23:48:24)
Fencer: Since when we play a game we don't read every time the rules, and sometimes appear surprising rules-changes that we recognize in the middle of a match (last example: Hasami Shogi). So it would be nice if under the name of the game you put the date of the last rule change, and if this date is less than 4 weeks it should be given in red font,so that we are warned that a game has still the same name but not the same rules. Or, as alternative, every time the rules are changed the name of the game should be changed also, in the example above "Hasami Shogi" in "Hasami Shogi Modern", and the old game can either continue with the old rules or if it is no longer interesting can be removed.
what is off topic and who determines it.... a few posts down I was pulled up in a joking? fashion by the "King himself"... BerniceC: Say anything you like. But don't be off-topic. Now im being castigated for not going to a mod about Fencer and his remarks, it isnt any wonder that the boards are dying.....from over moderation
oops...sorry but had to have my say.....sheeeeeeeeeesh
BerniceC: hi, i guess this is in response to a private message i sent to you .. i would have preferred it to be replied to in a privare message as well .. i see i have several new messages which i will read after this.
the point i in the private message was that cryingloser asked a question which was related to brainking.com .. you were right though that it would have been better at the feature request board .. but just because i dont try to over-moderate i allow a single post like this .. especially when its replied by fencer already .. so that should finish that conversation already
you then posted your comment .. which i asked you to do in a private message to the moderator .. as its the moderators task to redirect posts if needed
please take this into private messages with me as it doesnt belong on this board
if you want to continue this on a public board or in a fellowship, thats ok with me as well, but please send me a private message where that will be :)
any continuation of this topic should be done via private messages to me (or another moderate if you dont want to send it to me) .. any continuation of this on this board will be deleted .. sorry
If you are like me, you don't know enough about computers. You've been hearing a lot of talk about BrainKing and Firefox vs. Internet Explorer. You have Internet Explorer and aren't interested in downloading something to replace it.
I downloaded Firefox tonight, and it works quite well.
For those of you who don't know: - Firefox is free to download. - You can have both Explorer and Firefox on your computer. You don't have to replace the Internet Explorer that you are used to. You can use both. - Downloading is easy. Go to google. Type in Firefox download. You will get options like Mozilla Firefox free download. Just download it. It won't hurt. - You can always get rid of it if you don't like it.
I've got to say that I didn't like the coercive approach to suggesting that BrainKing users use Firefox. My immediate reaction was abrasive.
I've been using Firefox for two days now, just for BrainKing. It's like Fencer is a sort of father-figure here - You might not like what he has to say sometimes, but it's for your own good!
Oceans Apart: I noticed that too. I thought that the site didnt like me anymore and didnt give me my action points. But yes every 12 hours you can only get action points from a specific game (randomly chosen) whether you move or win a game.
I do have good news. I don't know if I should post this here or not but i do KNOW the current selected games. If I get in trouble for posting it then i wont post the answers when I found them.
The current game you can earn action points in is: HASAMI SHOGI
KotDB: By the way, it reminds me the quote from my favourite movie: "All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?"
nightmagic: so you think everyone should have to sign in just to see that they are still blocked in a game. And you think their opponents should always have to sit and wait for their moves when they know it is not possible for them to make one? Wouldn't it be nice to sign in to a game that you can actually make a move in? Rather than the frustration of seeing that you can't make a move and all you need to do is click a button to pass.
I guess there is no automatic process for updating the user database to reflect PayPal renewals? I renewed yesterday but I am still getting that renewal message.
