i am not sure if the pond games also showed in the autorefresh .. when i clicked on the main page link it showed a pond awaiting for my move, while it didnt before that .. it might be a coincidence that i clicked on the main page link while it wasnt there for 3 minutes yet (which is my refresh time) but i am not sure .. did a pond show up on autorefresh for anyone else ?
You should get your rating number right away (+ or - points) but your ranking which depends on how other players of that game are finishing at that moment may be adjusted less often.
The ratings SHOULD refresh immediatelly after a finished game. If this didn't happen there must be a problem..........I'm sure it will be fixed if there is any.....
Or there isn't any problem and this is how the system works. It may need 3-4 hours or even 1 day to refresh. Fencer.....?
But you don't have to worry, the rating will be refreshed!
does anyone know how often the game ratings refresh as i am lower down the list on hyper backgammon than i should be - not that im bothered - just curious
It stopped working for me around the time of BK2 but has been working the last couple weeks. If i remember correctly Fencer once said it is somewhat dependent on your ISP.
Arctic Warrior: you are not the only one. I brought this up a few months ago, but there seemed to be nothing wrong, it just doesn't work! Auto-refresh works on other sites for me (AllMixxedUp, Smilecity-a NZ site), so can't figure out why it doesn't here.
Funny thing is, worked for about 3 weeks when I first joined, then didn't, then I became a paid member, worked again for about 2 weeks, now hasn't for quite a while.
I'm running win98, have Internet Explorer, so its not my settings either.
whats the effect on the bkr for a newly added game on the site ? is it better for your bkr to wait until your opponents have at least a (prof) ranking ? or is it just as good for the bkr to play other players who play the game for the first time ?
we had great fun with some fast hyper gammon games yesterday .. but it seems that players who joined the fun later have a higher bkr now although they have the same ratio of won/loss games (or even worse ;))
Stevie: the bkr graphs didnt load for me for a short time yesterday .. other graphics sometimes dont load the first time, but often do after a refresh .. most of the times it works fine :)
Jason: That is interesting. I wonder if I were to set 30 days worth of vacation, play all my games so when they come back on the game sheet with those 30 days worth of vacations - what would happen if I then go and remove all the vacation days.
Since they would already be on my game sheet with the 30 days vacation, would that still be there, or would the normal time out still be there.
I've never heard about what you are talking about Jason - then again, I now just let auto vacation take effect if I need it.
i have seen other players not play ... while their time was ticking .. their time got negative .. to a max of -10 minutes .. and then they had a day added.
the server checks for timeouts every 10 minutes .. if it finds any .. it checks if there are any (auto) vacation days to be used .. if so .. a day is added
i dont know what happens when you have 2 games timing out though .. will it use 2 days ? or is a day added to all your games ? *ponder*
