Fencer, just a quick question. How much bandwith does this site use? I know the page views are out the roof, but the data can't be too high can it? 100GB month?

I've also posted a might be helpful tip on the Computers board that might help the webtvers out.

Thanks Blue ;o)
I will pass it on.....

Fencer: Could that be added to the .info page as webTV users seem to be able to get there.

MM- It is to save emails & such.. That can slow you down a bit if it is too full with saved emails. Have the webtver go to storage & clean up the discarded emails & the sent emails also..
They may help a bit..They can also use the 'goto' to access the site..If the person has the site saved under a fav number tell them to get rid of it...then try accessing the site they also should turn unit off. unplug it from the wall for 10 seconds then replug it..then reconnect but hit 'Moved' then connect to the net. then try acessing the site.

I am starting to be allergic to this damned device. It costs me days of optimizations without a possibility to test it on a real WebTV. Kind of neverending work with no visible end.

Blue: Whats the 'Storage Bin' on webTV used for ?

7. June 2004, 13:24:31

It has nothing to do with images.

Fencer the problem is not solved for webtv..
The pieces will not show up..Yes I played the game I can not access some discussion boards. I get an error message saying Brainking is too busy too use.
I have cleared my cookies.. I have also done a hard reset.. I cleared my cache numerous times.
Helpppppp!!! Thanx!! :)

I have goodfoods on Messenger, he can get to the Main page, but thats it. I have told him to do everything you told me to Fencer.

Fencer
I've seen a WebTV user here [PrettyBlueEyes] playing a game and, if I am not mistaken, successfully making a move in the game.
So, is the problem solved? We've made a hard bypass over the former redirector, nobody should have it in a cache because it never existed before.

7. June 2004, 09:30:11

I have stopped the game time in order to prevent timeouts until WebTV problem is fixed.

now how considerate is that???? in the middle of all the problems time has been taken to do for WebTV users..that is a wonderful gesture and a great thing...Fencer .. you never cease to amaze :)

Telepathically - now wouldn't that be good? lol I could imagine BK2 was up and running. :-)

I'm using a set box thingy at the moment. It takes a fortnight to load a page but at least it gets me here!

I can't access brainking.com at all from my laptop. I don't even get to the log-in page - all I get is (IE) 'The page cannot be displayed (blah...blah...blah...)' notice.

I've dumped all temporary internet files and deleted all cookies but this hasn't made any difference. I can get to all other sites - it's just BK.
Maybe it's just coincidence but I haven't been able to access BK since it reverted back to BK1 (from BK2).

Help anyone? Please!

hAhA... Hi Steve!! You must have read it differently then what i meant.. I meant: hope he gets rid of all the bugs which are in 2.0!

Thanks, btw Steve: You just told me you were at BK.. 2 hours earlier I couldn't logon yet.. good to be able to logon at least and know about the status and HI to a couple of friends :-)

i can only see my game sheet and this, i cannot open my msgs., and the only reply that works on here is to myself. i cannot play my games, i still have 4 days and more on all of mine. i have never had any problems here wit my web, this is a first for me, unplugging and emptying cookie does not help. if there's any news, please post it here, cause this seems to be the only one i can open, i can't open general chat. i'm going to try them all again now. thanks and have fun playing:( my games are piling up. yikes!

The person with WebTV is still having problems - How does a person on WebTV empty the cache?

They have tried to turn off/on the equipment a few times already.

7. June 2004, 03:34:31
Stevie
Ive asked some more webtv players on GT that play here and it seems like none of them can access Brainking due to a "site too busy " notice

7. June 2004, 03:33:55
coan.net
Well it sounds like there are multiply people on WebTV still having problems getting connected - it might be a good idea for Fencer to turn it off until we are sure these users are able to get back on.

7. June 2004, 03:30:34
Stevie
when i saw bk2 and he said that, the red line was there. so would guess it is definately not disabled now

7. June 2004, 03:27:40
coan.net
Yea, I did not see that line, but I remember Fencer saying time was turned off - so I thought I would ask.

7. June 2004, 03:16:23
Stevie
You can still time out, because the red "time out disabled" line is not on main page

7. June 2004, 03:14:04
coan.net
I just had a user using WebTV tell me they are still having problems connecting also. I will tell them to try to "empty the cache and switch the unit off & back on".

If there are any other suggestion I can give this user (WebTV), let me know.

Also - is the time-out still off, or is it back on?
