Subject: HELLO....I was suffering my my screen being in half English and half Foreign two days ago
Things were "greek" to me and there was nothing I could do to work around the site problem.

I think someone must've plugged in BK2.0

17. May 2004, 18:04:40

wtf is happening here? I think someone slipped me some drugs. I'm missing half my screen :)

Have we entered a calm in a tee-cup?

sorry harley.....io am guilty as well of being cruel and accusational...forgive me

17. May 2004, 17:25:42
harley
This is getting a bit overheated. Accusations have no place here, Backoff is right, the Boiler Room would be the place for this.

17. May 2004, 17:24:03
Backoff
Sure, boiler room anyone :)

17. May 2004, 17:22:44

Ok, should we not take this to another board?

besides what proof you have that he is "supposedly" cheating? and of course this is not a place for personal attacks either

17. May 2004, 17:13:27
Princess Kammy
he is not cheating Aragon....so please for the sake of the DB give it a rest.

17. May 2004, 17:05:29
Badinage
I agree with that BBW, what i dont agree with is Cheaters being allowed to moderate on the board for the game that they were cheating at!! And by all accounts STILL cheating!!

17. May 2004, 17:02:20
coan.net
The Moderators of all public boards should have the BAN/HIDE option. (I believe)

17. May 2004, 16:58:02
Badinage
NOT only does the renowned cheater aka Checkers Moderator have an acclaimed moderating position (which in itself is sickening) but he also has full BAN/HIDE facilities?? Come on Fencer you are having a laugh right?

but pawns as pawns can't join a fellowship in the first place.. so that wouldn't happen.. it would be a case of allowing them to stay, rather than 'allowing them in'

17. May 2004, 16:53:16
coan.net
No, Pawns would (should) never have any of the privledges of a Fellowship.

(The only thing that would happen is their "name" might still be in the list.)

17. May 2004, 16:51:46
LongJohn
I disagree, because then a bifg boss could allow pawns in and therefore enjoy paid membership priveledges for free.
That is not fair on anyone now is it?

17. May 2004, 16:50:15
coan.net
Currently if a pawn is in a fellowship (because of membership gone), I was thinking that they could not read the Fellowship discussion board - and really the only thing was they they could enter a fellowship tournament if they had room... but I'm not sure.

Yes, I agree they should be removed from the fellowships they belong to. (But that would stink if say your membership is late by a couple of days, and then you have to re-join all the fellowship you were just removed from. Maybe they should be left in the list, but make sure they can't read the boards or join the tournaments.)

ALSO, in BK2.0, the BIG BOSS will be able to remove any user they want - so maybe it would be better to just let the BIG BOSS do that type of cleaning?

17. May 2004, 16:45:40
LongJohn
of course they should be removed.
That is a benefit that should be paid for and how Fencer keeps his money flowing in enabling him toi maintain/improve the site allowing for a better excperience for all users.
I viscious circle but in a twisted waty it really means "kick out the pawns and make the place better for everyone, including them"

17. May 2004, 16:40:17
MadMonkey
Again yes in BK 1.0. Maybe all pawns in fellowships should automatically be removed from them after all they do get a reminder about there memberships expiring.

17. May 2004, 16:37:52
Niki
can pawns even in fact remain members in fellowships ?? what if there's a fellowship tourny they're in when membership expires ?

17. May 2004, 16:37:31
MadMonkey
Nope, can only make another Rook Boss (or Fencer) in BK 2.0 :-)
Dont know about the dreams one though as she is already a pawn there.

17. May 2004, 16:33:31
MadMonkey
In BK 1.0 i think so Niki. I think its different in BK 2.0 or should be. Shall i go and see if i can make a pawn BB of the Madhouse there ?

17. May 2004, 16:31:39
Niki
yes, but as you say, dream actually left.. would she still have had the ability to run the fellowship as a pawn ?

17. May 2004, 16:30:08
MadMonkey
Well 'dream' (Big Boss) of The Dream Team has not been here since June 2003, yet the fellowship is still there. Most people have left it now, but there are a few left.
Maybe the Members of a fellowship should vote on what should happen.
In dream's case she did state she was leaving, but no one offered to take the Fellowship over and she did not nominate anyone.
So i would say, mark the fellowship is "inactive" until new Big Boss candidate appears, and would have to be appointed by you Fencer.

17. May 2004, 16:28:01
Niki
thankyou for the reply fencer.. so for example, if a big boss rook has become a pawn due to not renewing, is he still the big boss ? are they still able to 'run' that fellowship ?
I wasn't suggesting anything should happen, I was just curious :o)

17. May 2004, 16:27:54
LongJohn
I would think a pawn should automatically be ejected from the fellowship (not a right as a non paying member to be in any fellowships) and then the next in line rook should take over.
The rank should be set automatically by join date of the fellowship (ie longest serving rook is the next in line) however, this rank structure should be able to be changed by the Big Boss so that he.she can control who gets the reins when they get omitted

17. May 2004, 16:24:48
Fencer
Nothing at this version happens.
What should happen? Delete the whole fellowship? Set "big boss" status to another fellowship member automatically? Mark the fellowship is "inactive" until new Big Boss candidate appears?

17. May 2004, 16:22:32
Niki
hmm, helpful, thanks ;-D
genuine question though please.. :)

Subject: rooks and fellowships
could someone please tell me, what happens to a fellowship if the big boss rook allows his membership to run out, or becomes a knight/pawn ?

Subject: Fencer..
...does this include 'sex' changes??

Granted this hasn't happened to me for awhile...
but it's still going on...

Also, would this include the part where you can write a bit about yourself??

And when is the ever so elusive BK2 going to go into effect???

17. May 2004, 14:33:40
Andersp
$ 20 for an approved change and $ 10 for a rejected LOL

17. May 2004, 14:31:30
Fencer
A fee for those who want to change profiles without confirmation process? ;-)

17. May 2004, 14:29:47
Andersp
sounds good Fencer...add a fee too!! :)

17. May 2004, 14:27:34

Andersp: In BK 2.0, all profile changes [except password change] must be confirmed by an administrator. Approved or rejected.

Andersp
Brian and Chatty...i 100% support your opinion. Im so tired of all this childish name changing.
Suppose this should be at "feature requests" but:
1. Is there a way to make name changes impossible?
2. If anyone must change his/her name, have them pay a fee of $ 10-20 each time they change.

17. May 2004, 13:30:46

I agree. It sends a message to the rest that anything goes here.

Fencer I think its time that this fiasco be stopped, having people banned for cheating (AT CHECKERS) and then bringing them back to moderate the board for said game is disgusting.

17. May 2004, 11:17:56
harley
Maybe speculation about other peoples user names would be best not done here?

17. May 2004, 11:16:18
sandra...
Personally I don't see thew fun in cheating... I have never had a 2nd ID... I have never needed one as far as I am concerned..
You have a genuine reason for changing Brian1971.. and as you say, your other ID is a dead one anyway... but there are too many people on here with multi ID'S... I sure hope it stops too!

17. May 2004, 10:59:20
Brian1971
I also believe LJ is Qwerty as well. OF course Lj is not always LJ either. He keeps changing into something else. Now LJ is MapleLeaf GZ for those who did not know. At least with AD changing his name, you know it is AD because the AD is always in the name. AS far as me having a second ID, I do have one. I admit it. However I havent used in since November. It was my original ID but after the big crash last year and all those games were lost as a result, I created a new ID and quit using the old one. So if anyone wants to accuse me of multiple IDs and cheating as a revenge motive check it out. The old ID is BlazinBrian. You will notice it has been stagnet since November. I hope with BK2 we will be able to rid the multiple ID situation so people dont cheat.
