I've had a package come from Japan (to central Illinois, USA) in 4 days. Durring that exact same time, it took over a week to get a letter from the Chicago area (northern Illinois) to central illinois.
Actually I think sending it registered is less safe for the fact you draw extra attention to the envelope.
I have paid for many things on eBay by sending cash in the mail, but of course you need to follow these steps:
1) Place in a sheet of paper and fold it around so the sheet of paper is complete surronding the money.
2) Only send bills, never send coins. (Someone sent me coins in an evelope once and once it got to me, I could easly tell that coins where in there.)
3) Make sure it is addressed correctly and everything like that.
4) Make sure you don't send any more then you are willing to lose. Since sometimes sending it through registered mail with insurance and such could end up costed a lot more then what it is worth. (So for example if the first $20 was lost, then the money you saved by not going registed and such would almost cover the cost of sending again).
Anyway, this is just my opinion - you should do what makes you feel the most secure, but as long as it looks like a normal letter, nothing special about it - it should gain no extra attention and get "lost" on the way.
The would be interesting to know - since the General Chat board is going to be cleared out at the first of the year, our "post count" stat might also be reduced.
Iranian membership - I know of at least 1 paid member from Iran, maybe they would be able to work something out.
If you do beat your previous high move total, it will also be updated in your profile in "real time" - so you don't have to be in the top 50 to see it. (but you do have to beat your previous record to see it.)
How many bodies will the pond hold: I would guess around 248. :-)
I believe you will be able to see what everyone else has left - so if you see someone for example only has 30 points left, you KNOW that all you will have to bet that time is 31 points to make it to the next round.
With THIS strategy - with so many people in the game, I believe this game will take a long time - but I believe this is basicly a "test" game to see how it does - I believe Fencer will start having other games with the limit of 20-25-50 players (or something like that.)
Well the bonus is only 500 points, so once it gets close to the end, and lets say everyone has around or below 500 points - if you are the highest, you can guess your max every time, win, and get 500 points and win the game.
... that hard part - get that far and still have the highest amount of points! :-)

Basicly your goal is to guess 1 number higher then the lowest guessing player.
So if someone on Turn one guesses only "1", then anyone that guessed 2-20,000 will make it to the next round. (And then in the next round, the person who guessed 2 will have 19,998 points left - while everyone else will have less points to guess with.)
Plus I think there is a bonus of 500 for whoever guesses highest.
Now if someone will just tell me they are guessing 1, then i can guess 2 (and since I know they will lie to me and guess 3, I will guess 4 to counter-act their lie! Muhahahaha
It will be interesting to see (and play) - of course soon everyone will start to run out of "points" to bet so I don't think it could ever go 230 rounds - and I'm sure many times there will be multiply eleminations.
The only thing I would like to see is possible only allowed to use 5 autovacations at one time (with 2 weekend days, gives a week to get back to the site)
After that, a person would have to manualy set vacation days for them to work.
Looking at the menu list, I think you could reduce some of them.
For example - I would stick "Winners" and "Ratings" both under "Statistics. (Also would be nice if the link to the daily move leader was also in Statistics.
"Brains" can probable be stuck in the paid membership area. I would say move "Store" and "Support us" both into the Paid membership section, but since we would like more support - those should stay separate.
Anyway, that will leave room for the pond game to be listed under the "Team tournaments" area, and the Interviews can be listed... um... somewhere.
Help & FAQ are similar - maybe combine both into 1 section.
Plus depending on how long before Polls or Search will be used for anything useful, those can be removed... and added later if needed. (And not too much trouble)
The new game - Don't need BKR's for it, but would love to see cool stats kept for it. (Like average amount of time to fall in the pond, or average first bet, etc.....)
Also my interview: I did not even notice this until mrloupcity just pointed it out to me, but 2 questions got mixed into 1.
Q. Do you own any pets? Can you tell us what they are and their names?
A. nope, do not like to read. Only thing I really read are some computer/networking magazines
(The question about what do I read is missing, and the answer about no pets except for my son or something like that is missing.) I'll have to check my home computer, which is down right now - will be reloading it tonight. Fun Fun. :-(
They are in Eur, so if you need to know how much it cost in a different currency, you can use http://www.xu.com to convert what the price will be. (Or ask for more help here, plenty of people willing to help.)
I'm sure Fencer will allow pawns to form a team tournament. I would guess about 10-15 EUR from each pawn to cover the cost to allow them on the "pawn team" for the backgammon team tournament would cover it - but Fencer would have to give you the exact amount. :-)
It would be hard to delete them since all past games are visable, and if the player had ever played any games - then it (in my opinion) is easier to just keep the account there instead of writing a script which will keep the games, the ratings, etc... but remove the user.
I try not to publicly talk about this, but I find it funny how purple says that Slam is sorry and stuff - yet he is currently trying to go around Fencer and make other accounts, used old multiply accounts to just cause trouble, etc....
He has the goal to mess with people on this site while trying to go around Fencers own wishes, and this is Fencer's site - so I don't see how Slam has done anything to help his cause to warrent his being reinstated. Let him stay banned is my opinion.
Is there a question that Nirvana asked, which Fencer answered which was deleted? I searched through the past 50 or so post, and can not find anything from Nirvana?
The only people I see complaining are pawns. Most everyone else knows that by being paid members, we are helping towards the goal of a new server which will make this site beter in the long run. Heck, this is the first (more then a few minutes) down time I have seen for a long time of this site, and with the old equipment that this site currently runs - that is pretty good!
Keep up the work Fencer, this is a great gamesite.
I was just thinking Fencer has to approve each new account - which would be done the next time he is online (night time his time right now), but I guess it could just be a set 24 hours.
Since this game site is visited by many people of many languages, and bad language of any language should be kept off the public boards. Even though it may not be bad to many who read it, like you said - it can be bad to others.
Also as a side note, BADINAGE currently does not have an active BIG BOSS - so if you try to join, it may take a day or so before we can get someone to do that job.
Since this is a world wide website, people from different cultures play at this site, so to be safe for everyone, rude/bad language should be kept off all public boards. At one time, Fencer said ALL boards, but he does let PRIVATE fellowship boards get away with more since they are not open to everyone.
1st: "unrated" players actually have ratings - just you don't see them until 4 games are played.
2nd: Ratings takes many things to figure a rating: Your rating, your oppenets ratings, how many games you played, and how many games your oppenent played.
3rd: Until 25 games are played (Well actually until 100+ games are played), ratings will fluxuate a lot. That is why it is a "provisional" rating until 25 games are played. I actually heard it can take up to 400 games before a rating is actually set pretty well.
4th: Even if you don't see ratings change, it may change. For example, before a game it may be 1500.1, then after the game it could be 1500.4 - but since you only see the "1500", it looks like it does not change... even though it does.
5th: How the formula works, it is even possible to lose points when you win! (When you don't have many games played, etc...) But I believe Fencer made it so you never lose points for a win, so at those times your rating will actually stay the same.
Anyway, in short - ratings will do very funny things until you get many games under your belt. At least 25 games, but probable more then 100 games is needed before your ratings will settle down.
I was trying to come up with a list myself of who I know has a "bigger" picture - was going to post it in the "Members only" board and hopefully have people add to it when they add one (that way we do not have to keep searching over and over) :-)
Who I know of so far:
Fencer, BIG BAD WOLF, panda, cariad, bumble, bobes, Stevie
It also looks like you have already played over 130 games, which will also make your rating more stable (Will not fluxuate as much).
Sprayman already played about 40 games, so it should fluxuate a little more then you, but with a draw - it would be a lot less - very possible under 1 rating point of flux.

Yea, Fencer did that a few weeks back - I find it still a little buggy for example when you put the HTML code for a link, and also inlude the address as the link description - it will throw a mess on the screen.
edit: Actually I just tested what was messing up in the past, and it seems to work now - so just ignore my part about it being buggy
