Jim Dandy: what rod03801 said,basically..an animla taking down another animal is nature, they do it to survive.
There IS a humane way for a farm to kill an animal, that video is NOT humane. An animal kills to survive...a humane does that because they are frigged up in the head!

Jim Dandy: Well, the difference is, the predator isn't being an insane, cruel sadistic torturer.

Tuesday: You see, watching another animal taking down its own prey(less the screaming)doesn't bother me nearly as much, not sure why,and I'm probably numbed to human destruction, but seeing and hearing that pig, ripped my heart out

anastasia: How would you react to a video of an animal in similar distress while being killed by its common predator?

anastasia: That was just awful. I forced myself to watch it. Those poor pigs are in HELL.

I went to the Hormel site to send them my thoughts, and saw this response on their site. I don't know if y'all saw it. http://www.hormelfoods.com/newsroom/news/humanehandling.aspx

anastasia: I turned it off 2 seconds into the scream, regardless if you eat meat or not, eating an animal who has died in distress apparently impacts the quality of the meat

Tuesday: I would think so..I mean, what do THEY care...I used the page to write an e-mail to the company....Peta has, what I think is a VERY decent plan in place for the farms to adhear to bu 2011,I think it is...I wrote to Hormel, practically BEGGING them to consider what Peta has to say...I will make sure not to but any of their product anymore...

Subject: Our animal friends
Tough times here in Michigan, but I know many state economies are hurting.  High prices, lost jobs, home foreclosures, and among the victims are many pets--left to fend for themselves by people who can't seem to figure out what else to do.

At least one local humane society is dealing with so many animals now that they've begun waiving all usual adoption fees for adult cats.
