Well, if players are allowed to leave a team (on the fellowship page) after the corresponding team tournament is started and join another team for another team tournament, it should solve this problem in the easiest way.
bwildman: There is a difference between "team" and "team tournament" :-) Everybody can be in only one team of the same game type but rooks can play any number of team tournament in this team.
No timeout can happen if the player has a day off (vacation, weekend, public holiday). Some games are not synchronized yet, that's why the timeout script adds 24 hours to such games.
Due to problems with certain prize tournaments [creators left the site without paying for a prize, etc.], I will prepare a small change in prize tournament policy - all prizes must be provided to me in advance and until it is done, the corresponding tournament stays in "unconfirmed" status and cannot be started.

I have a mathematics degree as well :-)
The answer is simple - since some players can be removed from a tournament during creating the sections, it is not possible to determine how many slots you will really need BEFORE the sections are generated. That's why there is the 5/10 slots rule. The second reason is to give pawns another reason why to upgrade to a higher level where this limit is no more applied.
Shortly - you are playing here for free, so you must accept all pros and cons. I see no reason why I should add more advantages to non-paying members.
