There's a little less than 2 hours left to get in on Speedy Dice Games #1

Dice chess needs one more person to sign up.

There's also Ludo and most of the backgammon games.

I could play around with it, but those will probable be full within the next hour, so I'm not too worried about it.

If you are using the rich text editor, you need to click on the "Insert Link" button (looks like a chain link).

turnberry1: play in tournaments of the specific game type because you usually play multiple games of the same type with people.  You can also look up the bkr ratings page on the game and try inviting people.  Depending on your style of play, the latter option can be better.  If you like a fast game, then the latter option might be better because there are people who play a LOT of games at a time and that tends to draw out their moves.

tarcellius: There seems to be reason to believe that the one-tournament-per game restriction was removed without an announcement. Also, the fact that you are currently playing two Pente tournaments is strong evidence of this, unless you were a Rook at some point in the past. I would recommend against upgrading your membership, unless you want to do so for other reasons. It would be a shame if Fencer's habit of inadequate documentation led directly to an increase in his profits.

You're listed as being signed up for the tournament in question, and (while I could be mistaken) I believe that if the restriction were in place you would have been unable to sign up at all. I expect you'll be able to play without needing to upgrade.

tarcellius: I wouldnt expect you to resign, we jsut thought that ,maybe you had completed your round in one of the tournaments, and if u were unfortunate not to progress to the next, which is not the case in your situation, you could have asked Fencer to remove you from it.

Good Luck in your current tournament anyway.

tarcellius: I bought into a knight once. Then I let it run its course and saw its limitations pretty quickly. It is worth buying a rook membership.
This message also goes out to all other non-rooks, based on impartial experience...

mybirthdaysoon: One of the earlier posts implied that maybe I entered one of my tournaments as a pawn before upgrading to a knight and entering another tournament. That might have happened and tricked the check.

As luck would have it, I'm waiting for the next round to start in both the tournaments I'm already playing. So I can't easily resign my way out - and I'm reluctant to do so after playing to get there. :)

So I'm probably faced with upgrading to rook to be in the new tournament. But thanks to everyone for clarifying that the restriction does apply to this situation.

danheg: Ah thats a point, i am not sure, maybe if he has finished playing in a tournament and he cant progress any further, Fencer might be able to rlease him from it, so he can enter aaru's tournament.

mybirthdaysoon: That's the confusing part. I am already in two pente tournaments right now, both of which are running and partially completed. Which seems to contradict the "one tournament" rule right there. For all I know I can play the upcoming pente tournament with no trouble, too.

tarcellius: I believe the tournament will just boot you out since you already have a Pente tournament. If you really wanted to play, I guess you could resign your Pente tournament game, and since you would lose the section if you did, you could ask Fencer to allow you to play in the other.

Subject: eligible for tourney?
Question for Brainking tournament experts: is there a definitive way to tell whether I will be accepted into a tournament when it starts?

My concern is membership-wise. Knight membership says I can only be in one tournament of a game type at a time. But I appear to be in two pente tournaments right now, so I'm not sure I understood that correctly.

The important thing is that I be eligible for aaru's pente tournament when it starts in a few days. Is there a button to "check eligibility now" or the like? What happens if I'm ineligible (do I get booted the day of the start with no option to deal with it)?

Thanks very much, tarcellius

hexkid: I already had to recreate the tournament once when I couldn't count and added 8 games instead of 7.

I was thinking about waiting since I think some new games Fencer might add will turn into my new "favorite" games - but O'well - I'll just add more tournaments for those games when they come.

Along with some of the "fast start" tournament (http://brainking.com/en/Tournaments?trnst=0&u=2560), I have 2 special tournaments to sign up for.

#3000 - This is my #3,000 tournament on the site - starts in about 11 days or sooner (Number of players is LIMITED - so first sign up, first start) - ☺►►►►►►►►►► # 3,000 ◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄◄☺

The 7 Tournament - 07/07/07 - 07:07 - Still a few months from this, but has a lot of 7's in it!
