But, since the system DID declare it a draw, the rules must be as gambler is interpreting them to be. I interpreted them the same way. As soon as a player does not have a move in their turn, the game is at that instant, over.
MadMonkey: No, I don't think this is a matter of interpretation. Let's quote the rules literally again:
How to finish the game
The game ends if one player cannot make a legal move.
In this game it was Nirvana's turn. She couldn't make a legal move. So ONE PLAYER could not make a legal move, and the game is over. There is no rule about "passing" a move. If it would be possible, the game would never be over until all the board was populated - as long as there is only one free square, there is always one legal move to be made. So in this case the rules would say:
This tournament is for players rated BELOW 1500, or UNRATED.
This is a great way to learn how to play a new game, or play a game which you may not be too good at.... without too much worry about being "killed" by experts.
Each tournament type needs at least 4 players before it will start - many of the games have only 2 or 3 players signed up.
Mr. Shumway: I agree with what you say, we have to play by what the rules are here on Brainking. The thing is depending where you have played it, as i have before the Rules are different. Just an example from Gamerz.net:
'If you are unable to move on your turn, you are skipped. There is a chance that your opponent may be forced to make a move that will let you move again'
This is why its hard to implement games, you could play a game somewhere else and swear your rules are correct, when they only are for that site.
To all players that play in any of my TOURNAMENTS.There are PLAYERS here that use PROGRAMS TO PLAY GAMES.Learn who they are and don,t play with them unless you like to lose.
KRAMNIK IS A SUSPECT OF USING DRUG, SHOULD AN URINE TEST BE TAKEN? GOING INTO THE WASHROOM SO FREQUENTLY IS A SIGN OF SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CONDITION OF HIS BODY. THE QUESTION IS:DRUG USE IS ALLOWED IN CHESS MATCH?
Fencer can you please check out your time out system. There seems to a problem. It was in ALL GAMES 1 HOUR LUDO run today 2 players timed out and they should have not.
MadMonkey: Well without looking at the tournaments, the only thing I can guess right off the top of my head is that it was a brain entry tournament, which Fencer does not want users to delete for the fact if anyone who entered may not automaticly get their brain entry fee back - and might be something Fencer has to do manually.
Again, that is just a guess off the top of my head.

First 5 to sign up - tournaments will start once they are filled up!
