You are helping to make my point BBW.....

Out of your 94 (or however many) tournament wins 43 (or so, almost half) have come from the 113 five person tournaments you have joined, while the other half of your win total comes from the other 435 tournament s that you have entered.

Ih other words.... You win about 40% of the five person tournaments you enter, and only about 10% of all the rest. Its simply misleading to brag about having 94 tournament wins when half of them come from tournaments with only four other competitors. It would be curious to find out how many of those competitors you beat actually had a higher bkr than yourself? (I am obviously bored, maybe I will check it out myself)

... and I did some "quick" stats for you.

I have created 1,363 fast start tournaments to date. I have joined only 113 of them, that is about 8% - so I joined very few of them.

And personally I have joined a total of 548 tournaments - so only about 20% are made up of my own "fast start" tournaments!

I guess that I am just not as impressed by being at or near the top of statistics lists as some...

I simply thought some perspective about your tournament win total was helpful.

IMCK - Um, first I don't have the most moves. Second, I don't have the most tournament wins. Third, there is not a game which I have the highest BKR. Forth, most of the tournament I create I do not sign up for myself! I would guess I sign up for less the 20% of the own tournaments I make!

Someone made a great milestone of 100 wins which I congradulated them for.... with the comment that I was right behind them. I'm sorry that you feel so inferior about it all, but that is all it was.

IM- sorry but most of BBW tourney that I sign up for does not have him playing. Most of the time it got the PRO arpa. So that is y I feel they r good tourneys to play. Cause, it only make me a better player but playin better people at a kind of game. Yes, we play them for fun but, winning them is fun to. And from time to time I get my behide spanked bad in some games. But it's all in learning. Again SORRY if I misread ur post. TYVM for ur time.

Sorry mr loupcity... I didnt mean to be so vague. My post was not written to you or about you..... it was meant for BBW, who claims that he plays only for fun, but really seems obsessed with tooting his own horn about having made the most moves per day, or won the most tournaments, or having the highest bkr in the most games etc....
It just made me laugh when I read his post bragging about his tournament win total.

I agree Bumble that those 5 person tournaments are "legitimate" but they do not always attract the top players, as they are fast start with no bkr or other restrictions, therefore it depends who is online when they are created, and since BBW signs up when he creates them, there are only 4 other slots open, and it is simply the first 4 people who see them who get in.

Anywho, that is his right, and if thats what is fun to him, so be it. gain, I just think it is funny that on the one hand he says he plays tournaments for fun only, then on the other hand comes on bragging about his win total... is it all about winning or fun BBW? LMAO :)~

Congrats mrloup!

The 5 player tournaments that BBW creates are legitimate and valid tournaments and a lot of fun. To win one isn't easy as they attract the top players. Long may they continue.

is there a way to invite a bunch of people to a tourney? even if it's not an invite only or do I have to do it one at a time. ? ;)

I bet half of those "wins" were in 5 player tournaments.... I thought it was all about fun though, not bragging about how many tournaments we have won?

Anywho, Im off to create fast start 2 person backgammon tournaments, maybe I can catch up with you guys....

Congrats to mrloupcity for his 100th tournament win!

.... but watch out, I'm right behind you with 97 tournament wins! (What is sad is he won more of my own tournament then I have!) :-)

Invite only would be the only way to do that - or wait until the tournament is about to start and remove who you do not want to play.... or depending on the person, ask them in private message nicely to not join your tournament.

Subject: Update on Dummies #6 Tournament
Since 9 new games have been added to this site, I really wanted to include those in the Dummies (rated 1500 & under) tournament. So I've created a second tournament which will start at the same time as the original tournament - so now you can sign up for almost all the games on this site!

  • Original Dummines #6 Tournament
  • New 9 games dummies #6b Tournament
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Since they are new games, most player are unrated and can sign up. When the time comes to start the tournament, I will remove players which are way over the 1500 BKR limit to make it far to everyone.
    ==========
below is the rest of the information:
    ==========

Starting October 19th (MY BIRTHDAY!), is the popular "All games for dummies" tournament!

  • Most all available games are here!
  • All games for players rated UNDER 1500
  • Unrated also can join (but don't join if you are an expert at the game)
  • Great way to learn a new game
  • Great way to play a game without being "killed" by high ranked experts
  • NOTE - Since ratings do change, before the tournament starts, i will remove anyone who is way over the 1500 limit.
  • NOTE #2 - Pawns & Knights need 5 free game slots for each game.
  • S I G N - U P - H E R E ! for orignal games
  • S I G N - U P - H E R E ! for the 9 new games
  • ... and have fun!

    Subject: Prize Tournaments
Due to problems with certain prize tournaments [creators left the site without paying for a prize, etc.], I will prepare a small change in prize tournament policy - all prizes must be provided to me in advance and until it is done, the corresponding tournament stays in "unconfirmed" status and cannot be started.
It requires some code modifications, though.
