Marshmud: also, if you want to keep it as a holiday tournament, use the Fischer clock to insure speedy play. Otherwise you get characters like me that move at a turtles pace
_Road Runner___:i’ll play, for as long as I’m alive or this site exists! I believe I hold the record for the longest playing tournament win, taking over 13 years to complete. The winner of this tournament might very well beat my BK record.
We only need about 15 more to launch this tourney. Who thinks they have the stamina to win!
Subject: Re: WHy isn't the filter listed alphabetically?
IDamian: you can set your filter to just look for specific tournaments. IE, set filter to show all “chess tournaments” and then all tournaments that have chess as an option will be shown.
MadMonkey: funny how we learn of these things. I’ve been here since the starting year of BK and never knew about this loophole. I too heard about brains being scammed but never knew how (or even why). Like Carpe, I’m signed up and playing in one of those tournaments and also don’t have any “Brains”.
I feel like there should be a scarecrow reference from the Wizard of OZ on that last sentence.
Subject: Re: Win 4 games - receive Brain Rook membership
Aganju: but the tourney won’t start until there are 128 players. I don’t know if there are still 128 active players here, everyone will need to sign up to get this one going.
Subject: Re: Win 4 games - receive Brain Rook membership
Marshmud: because by the time you get to the end everyone else will have quit or died. JK
If this tourney play out (which is a huge accomplishment if it does) it will likely only take about 5 years to compete. I won a 13 month brainrook membership in a tournament that lasted just over 13 years. I still think that’s got to be some kind of record.
Hello BK players, I have not had any response from Fencer to pay for the prize tournaments I created or the prize tournaments that Marshmud and I were going to create. I have deleted the pawn tournament as there was no interest. I kept the Prize tournament for members as I’m hoping that Fencer will get back to me before Christmas. If not, I will also have to delete that tournament as it will not be able to start until the money is paid.
I’m not sure if I’m missing something here, but I’m up on my opponent 20-14 with each of us having one frog left. He guesses and scores 7 points for the win? I thought it was only 5 points per frog. Am I missing something or is this a little buggy?
Just a suggestion here, but I’m thinking all team tournaments should be made with the parameters of 4 persons per team. As it stands now, we’re having a hard time finding 5 players per team. So until things pick up (if they pick up), I would suggest keeping the limit set to 4 people per team.
Tournament creation based on membership status but a sensible limit as to how many tournaments one can create. Active tournaments should not count in the total tho as I can foresee some slow pokes tying everything up.
I think that if further team tournaments are created, then we need to reduce the number of players required. 8 players per team for Cloning Gammon will never happen. 6 would be difficult, 5 is more doable for Fellowships.
We need a player to play for the Untouchables in the upcoming team tournament for Logic. If someone wants to join our fellowship and play, we can get the tournament started.
With Fencer's generosity of giving out free memberships, I have decided to try something different.... So, I bought another year's membership and this time the free memberships are going to go towards a team tournament.
With Fencer's help we have created the first prize Team Tournament
All are welcome to join (as long as you belong to a fellowship). The 6 lucky participants will battle for a 3 month Brain Rook membership. I chose gammon games as it should even the odds a little and balance the playing fields.
