Subject: Re: I guess this tourney will never be finished?

Resher: No, zetes is not the problem. Harassed (a.k.a. WakeUpPeople) simply decided not to move in that tournament, very shortly after it had started. The prize from the tourney even had to be moved to another one because of him and his mental anomaly.
MadMonkey: I did bother to look. I find it funny for someone wondering “where are all the Checkers players” not to play in the tournament himself. Or are you a member of only one fellowship?
FrancescoLR: I think Gerry i's trying to say that those pawn's don't care about the prize and they would have signed up for the tourney even if there was no prize at all.
"GERRY": Of course you have to remove them one by one. But there IS a way to "completely ban unwanted players from your tournaments". THAT's what you asked. Just go to the tournament and remove those who you don't want to participate. After that, they won't be allowed to sign (maybe they will sigh) up again.
"GERRY": I would like to express my big thanks, Gerry, for your recent posts containing extremely useful information on the winners of your tournaments. And not only has it been very interesting, edificatory and fun to read your posts, I particularly appreciated the form you had chosen for them. Thanks so much for the font size and for the great colors. Without them, I would have probably overlooked your astonishing messages, and that would have been a pity, wouldn't it?
BIG BAD WOLF: It's just amazing that on a game site, it takes you less than an hour to reply to my post with such a long one, yet more than 11 months to complete an anti-froglet or small-espionage game or more than 10 months to complete a backgammon game.
I have nothing against slow movers, I'm in a game that was started in 2003 and I don't have a problem with it. But when I see a person who is the ONLY obstruction from a tournament to move on for SUCH a long time, it drives me nuts. If I saw other people were waiting for my games to finish in order to get their prizes frome prize tourneys for instance, I'd do everything I could to move as fast as possible in such games.
BIG BAD WOLF: It doesn't apply in the finals. I don't know if it's a bug or not but that's the way it is. Try resigning some tournament game that is in the first-section stage.
Pawns cannot delete their games. Tournament games cannot be deleted by anyone. If you resign a game where under 2 moves by each of the sides have been made, it still counts as a loss but you don't lose any BKR points.
I am against removing s-b. It prefers win against better players to wins against lower rated players and I like it that way. And to answer Hrqls's question, yes, of course it is used, it's not a BK speciality...
