Marfitalu: it may be unsportsman like if you have an agreement on the time per move...I'd just be sure you win at least one more in the series. Then you'll have the last word. ;)

Marfitalu: he's winning the game and time is suspended...I don't get why he should resign.

Subject: Backgammon glitch
Many who play backgammon may not know of the glitch. Some unfamiliar with the game rules may not even think about it.

The thing to note, IMO, is that it's not against site rules and therefore the play (even though it's a glitch) should be allowed.

What people should concentrate on is a couple of facts:

the occurances are few and far between

it will be fixed one day

until then.......breath ;)

playBunny: yes, Wayney. They were clearly cheating and the rules say you can get banned for that. They were banned. So your games with them will time out.

What is the bug in hyper that allows for an illegal move?

Are no longer with us. Thanks Fencer!

Game Guidelines:

NO CHEATING. This includes using outside programs to help play and losing on purpose for the goal of boosting ratings. Your account may be banned, and ratings will be removed.

Now both have me on block. Doesn't matter. Whoever they are, they are clearly cheating and my guess is that they will not try to explain themselves.

Pedro Martínez: Either cheating or stupidity. But I'm with you, it looks like cheating to me. His chosen move practically gurantees he will lose. He had the option of sending one pip back and being behind as he was, that was the only smart choice. someone rated that high knows this.

Subject: Re: Is this what you mean?
Pedro Martínez: Yes, that's it. All the games in question were lost by the same person who resigned. In a few cases the scores were very close and there was much game left. (63-68; 57-72 that's close in hyper; 49-51 and white resigns even though he just rolled double sixes)

Pedro Martínez: I'll go back and check but I think it was back and forth between the two. I'll point it out to Fencer if I see it's lopsided. I don't see the advantage if they swaped the win/loss. Both have a rating over 2100.

Subject: Wouldn't it be odd
To find the same two players playing Hyper Backgammon and only moving 3 0r 4 moves and then one of them resigning. I can see one or two times this MIGHT happen, but 14??

In Hyper, it really isn't over until it's over. Doubles can turn a lost game into a win (and often does) in one turn. And if you're good, you'd know this. Why would someone play that many games and resign only after a few moves (and all with the same player) ?

I agree, especially when my opponent, who is behind, rolls three doubles in a row, high numbers, and I roll a one and a two.

Stupid Dice

When I roll the three doubles and win a lost game, the dice are so very smart. :)
