your welcome, That is what I do when I havve alot of games on my main page and also want to read the boards that way i read and then play all the online players so they can move and when I am caught up it goes back to the main page and I know I can catch up on my reading again. but if I am caught up with my reading (not often) i then play the next game by assending order so the games that have the least amount of time are played first. I am a bit obcessive compulsive that way lol but it works for me. I just wish the members were in alphabetical order in the fellowships and that the fellowships were in alphabetical order on my main page too lol

you can chose the "next game with this player",as well.

Subject: Re: Online indicator in the drop down
I suppose that'd work for me as I have just a few games going, but for someone that carries a hundred or more, they might want to choose a particular person amongst two or three that are online instead of just taking the next one in line or always taking the same person.

Thanks for the tip, I might see if I like that way.

Right, but there are times I want to choose which online player I want to move against... without having to go to the main page..

before you select move in a game just use the drop down to the right and select go to the next game with an online player and set it as a default.

I am thinking having the green dot or something simular show in the drop down for one's games would be handy for keeping a game going. Or maybe a second drop down for current online opponents.

It would be nice when viewing a player's profile to see if they have any games in the waiting area.

Can we have a board on which to publicly reply to those who send messages then block a reply with the enemy facility?

Can there please be a more obvious distinction (like a larger space, or even just a Horizontal Rule) between the rounds of a tournament? (ie: between the last section of round 2 and the first section of round 1)

not sure but i believe they can because they refer back to them with an eerie accuracy if they can't. and i know on other sites they can but you can always go into one of your own clubs like Foxys Anger Fellowship and mooderate & delete an old message and see what happens there. just a suggestion for if you still get no replies that help. :-)

Subject: Re: re: DB thread succession
that is why i requested a prefference in our profile page to make the oldest or newest at the top. I think this would be the easiest and simplest thing to do and it would be like reading a book. especially for new members wneh reading 9,999 messages on some of the boards lol and yes i did read that many on the brainking.com board and a few others lol I'm obsessive comppulsive that way and besides i thought I might miss something if I didn't lol

I think BBW is a little off. When someone is on hide, the moderator sees their posts with a dark grey background. At least this is how it works on the public boards. I've never put anyone on hide in a fellowship, but I assume it works the same way. You could try that yourself, ScarletRose. Sorry to be off-topic.

I don't think the moderator can see the original un-edited text, but I think it is still in the database where Fencer can see it.

And a moderator can't have a person on hide on a board. If they click "hide" on a person, it hides them from the whole board - not just themselves like it would do in a board they do not moderate.

Subject: okay.. here is a question..
Can mods see the original text of a message if someone has edited it?

And what if they have that person on hide??

Just curious.. :)

Subject: re: DB thread succession
There are a lot of things that could be done to help make the discussion board better.

But many of these have been suggested in the past, and what I know of Fencer - He thinks of this site as a game site, and would rather spend what little extra time he has working on new games and new game features - and not worry much about the discussion boards.

Not saying it will never happen, but I would guess any disucssion board improvments would be near the bottom of the "to-do" list. :-)

24. November 2004, 20:28:41
Bry
I agree with Thad - re clicking red number takes you to the oldest. If there are new messages on more than one page, when you click to page 2 to read upwards, the "new" disappears. Would this be easy Fencer?

24. November 2004, 20:23:01
Thad
Subject: Re: DB thread succession
Or better yet would be to have clicking on the red numbers take you straight to the oldest new message. Then you could begin there and start reading up instead of having to scroll down first.

Another feature I'd like to see is a way to link to a particular message. Then we could use anchor fields in our links at other places to link directly to particular messages.

Subject: DB thread succession
I thought it might be an easy add on to the features if each player had a choice of having the newest message at the top or having the oldest message at the top. this would enable myself to scrol down to the first new message and then continue scrolling down while reading and be able to read the DB's like a book. thanks for a great site just a sugestion to make it even better. IMHO
