Why not a red "New!" since the previous visit?

I love that the Tournament page sorts by how much time is left before the tournament starts, but I miss being able to see which tournaments are the new ones. (For example - I know there were only 33 tournaments earlier, not there are 34 - but I'm not sure which is the new one.)

Request: To be able to sort the Tournaments page by newest/oldest created tournament.

It works like it used to Thank you for fixing it, Fencer. Those Bishops did him in, all right. :) He said in his resignation note that he was checkmated, now I can see that he is.
Thanks again for fixing it.

I think it would be a good idea to have this type of tournament here.. I think it would also be pretty unique to Brainking wouldn't it?

I've been planning a prize tournament of this type in the WebTV fellowship.. planned on posting it later in July.. still working on ideas of how to work it.. I may be picking your brain, Stevie!

I guessed, but was useful to show a manual example :o)

Right Steve. Except It would be one tournament, with one winner, and would be official. ie you wouldnt have to manually add up a score and announce who won, and the winner of one game type would not get a tournament win, only the overall winner.

Is it possible to create a tournament where each player plays several different game types, and the tournament winner is the person who does the best, overall, for all the games types? It could be based on toal points, where you get 1 point for winning and 2 points for second etc. with the lowest point total being the winner, perhaps? Some peple are good at chess, for example, but only average at reversi, and visa versa. It would be nice to find out who is really good at many different games, and perhaps the best overall gamer.

Of course, it's the 37th anniversary of the summer of love and 3+7=10 and 10x3=30, 10-3=7 and the two threes equal six. Fencer will be implementing a barefoot browsing facility.

As you know several times I've sent messages to you for translation, if these questions were on a public board then everyone would understand if they received a similar message plus it would save you time as other bilingual members could answer.

At one time you seemed enthusiastic about the idea of a board for questions of czech/english translation, has your enthusiasm waned, is it somewhere on a list or would you prefer it to be arranged as a fellowship?

"Show <player>'s games with me only" link seems not to work. It does get replaced with the "Show all games" but continues to show all the games instead of filtering by games against me.

sorry, yes, you're right.. though I had a helluva time finding the ratings list, had to go via someone else's profile that had a rating in BB+.. the game doesn't appear to be on the 'ratings' page ? and that's with clicking 'show provisional'

4. July 2004, 22:59:04
grenv
This could be related to the bug where the lists aren't always correct. Yesterday I was in the wrong place on a list, but today it has corrected itself.

4. July 2004, 22:57:24

yes Niki i have done that but i still dont appear on the list and the person in 1st has only completed 4 games

Fiona, have you tried clicking on 'show provisional bkr' at the top ?
*addition* as it's provisional until you have played 25 I think

4. July 2004, 22:52:08
Fiona
how many games do you have to complete before you get a rank as i have won 6 and have a BKR of 1700 but dont appear on the rankings yet

I didn't think i was :-)
I just thought that is what they wanted, so when they got to a game they had any information about that person that they had been told before and could add to it if needed.
e.g. Name, family, occupation, hobbies etc..... (the ammount of characters could be limited of course)

4. July 2004, 13:21:54

Just been testing that friends description box Fencer, the adding works fine.
I think (maybe wrong) that Fiona (and a few others) meant that they could also add things to that box from the game with the person they were playing at the time and see what is in there also, so it would be like an extra Note box as such.
*added*
That way the person may not be a friend as such (not of your friends list), but someone you play and have got to know, who does not use there own name as there username, so when you got to a game with them a bow would show (in green maybe) with any details you have added about the person before, rather than going over it all again.

I would like to have an Icon to download to my tool bar that would light up everytime I had a play on a game. Another gamesite does this and my games never wait there. It's much better than an email message.

Fencer was looking into the idea of having a personal "note book" type of feature.

We use to be able to send ourself messages (which was a good way to make yourself notes), so a notepad may show up sometime in the future.

Subject: just a wondering
is there a possibility for in the future to have a section for making personal notes about people on you friends list etc as i talk to a lot of people about many things but then find myself forgetting things they already told me - their first name being one of them lol - so i wondered if we could have somewhere on here where we can make notes rather than having to search through previous games with them to refresh my memory :o)

it looks fixed now.

Walter, it's obvious why your opponent resigned. Spectacular checkmate! :)
