Fencer: I don't know if this is in any way related to any change you have made, but links to finished games in single elimination tourneys are not working for me now… they take me to a blank page…
plaintiger: Read also the Backgammon board. It has been discussed there quite a lot, and someone has even downloaded a bunch of games and made a statistical analysis of the occurrence of the opening rolls.
Nothingness: Go to my profile, click “Finished games” and then “Show Pedro Martínez's games with me only”. However, this feature would be much easier and simpler to use if had our Last 10 Finished Games back. :)
Snoopy: Our fellowship (Společenství přátel) actually did that in that tourney after I had stopped playing here, and nominated Mrsx (aka Tajny) to play instead of me.
rabbitoid: The average pond now has enough trouble collecting 16 reluctant players from all over the planet. for a live game, they'd all need to be present at start.
That is exactly the reason why I brought it up here. My guess is that live ponds would stir the interest and it would not be too difficult to get 16 players for a game. But it's only my "guess" and I wanted to know what other people think of it. Anyhow, I like grenv's idea of allowing Pawns to play live ponds.
alexlee: I should also mention that this idea is not to be interpreted as an effort to change the ponds as we know them. There would be two types of ponds available: the regular ones and these new "live" ponds.
There has been a idea of starting the next round in ponds immediately after all players submit their bids. In this way, it would be possible to finish a pond within hours or even minutes. Of course, the maximum time per move would still apply, however the creator would have the option to set as low time limits as one minute. I have already informed Fencer about this idea, but I would like to know how popular such ponds would be. So if anyone would post their comments, it would be mostly appreciated.
Marfitalu: You should be entitled to 10/35/45 vacations days per year. Period. Not less, not more. Regardless of how many times you renew your membership.
However, this is just my opinion from a user's perspective. I do understand that a manager might have a different opinion, based on the fact that the current system brings more money in the "BK budget".
AbigailII: Why would anyone considering the future of BrainKing want to deal with some US laws? Act 121/2000 Coll. (the Czech Copyright Act) is the only thing that matters in this respect.
Thad: Well, people in your tourney move quite fast. I don't know what you're complaining about. Why did you sign up for that tournament in the first place? Note that I'm not advocating the time-limit or vacation system here, I'm just saying that there's nothing wrong in YOUR example, in this respect.
BBW, MadMonkey: I don't see any difference. If you run into a game with an idiot, the time settings are of no importance, unless it is a no-vacation game.
Subject: Re: Cheversi imbalance and new games in general
MadMonkey: Two days ago I would have agreed, but after being beaten as black by oliottavio, I say that you need to play better than "reasonably" to win against a top-class opponent.
Gordon Shumway: Oh, you're right...:) I just don't pay attention to the colors. It's way easier to look at the name of the game than remember all the colors...
